Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #25
Ms. Majors, America-Man, & Crimson Matroyshka On “Special-Man V The Good Knight: Rise Of America’s Protectors”
“Batman V Superman” the movie that will make you think you’re going color blind…
Seriously though if you liked “Batman V Superman” that’s great I’m happy for you. I guess even envy you in a sense… That being said some of the defenses for it are ridiculous. The first one it that “it’s making money”…. Well yeah you have 3 of the most iconic characters in history in one movie. Hell there are grandparents who have waited their whole lives to see them all on screen. Of course it’s making money! It’s too big to fail! If this movie doesn’t break every record ever I see that as a pretty big failure. Marvel did this with C and D list characters and in most cases they were critically successful as well.
The other argument I see from the actors and other people is “this movie wasn’t made for critics”. C’mon buddy… I’ll give you critics are generally wrong sometimes. One example is “Juno” which had like the highest score ever on Rottentomatos and it’s terrible. Another is “Machette Kills” which was pretty great but got bad reviews. 9 times out of 10 though if something gets bad reviews its a bad movie.
Ya know I think I’m done talking about “Batman V Superman”. Just be even handed here some stuff DC does well…
- All there TV shows are pretty good except “Gotham” which sucks and are waaay better than “Agents Of Shield” and “Agent Carter”. The Marvel Netflix shows are on a whole other level of great though
- The direct to DVD animated movies are great (Marvel’s are terrible)
- Haven’t played the Arkham games but pretty much everyone says they’re good
What’s frustrating is the Marvel and DC really could learn from each other. I want them both competing as hard as they can for my time and my dollars. Alright enough already, that’s it for this week. Next week more Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations Tuesday-Thursday. See ya then and hope you enjoy!
