I’ll never get tired of Slowku being dumb. One thing I wanted to set up in this comic is that Slowku and Special-Man’s dads knew each other. At some point I want to explain the connections between them and Q-boy and why all of these alien characters are on Earth.

On an entirely different note October is coming up and with it are drawing challenges where you draw something every day such as Inktober. I have the beginnings of an idea for something special I want to do for it. This might be too nutty even for me though, but we’ll see…

That’s it for this week. Check out new “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” on Tuesdays-Thursdays. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

So we got into a bunch of Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz confusion in this one. I went into the whole thing going on in “Superman” comics with this “Mr. Oz” guy being “Jor-El” before. Seems pretty stupid, but whatever. I’m going to switch gears and talk about “Secret Empire”.

Last week “Secret Empire: Omega” came out. I guess this is the end of this never-ending crossover for real this time. This… This one hurts. Most crossovers suck, but they have good art or good fights or something. This one mostly had art that didn’t fit at all and REALLY ham-fisted politics. The art would be great for some “crime” comic. This is superhero comic though.

I think the biggest thing that’s dumb about this is that something big is not really addressed at all. “Good” “Captain America” isn’t real. He’s some girl’s memory of the guy. The real “Captain America” is still alive and still evil. They could make something interesting out of this, but knowing comics they almost certainly won’t. Also they killed off “Black Widow” but they’re already hinting that she alive.

Tomorrow The Good Knight is replaced by Slowku as they continue to talk about dads. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

This comic is about some stuff going on mainly in recent “Superman” comics. There’s been this mysterious guy running about the “DC Universe” called “Mr. Oz”. Since “DC” started this whole “Rebirth” thing there’s been references to “Watchmen”. Specifically “Dr. Manhattan” and “The Comedian’s” button. (It must be pointed out that all of this is comic book blasphemy by that way). Naturally if you know “Watchmen” you’d figure “Mr. Oz” is “Ozymandias” or some other “Watchmen” character… Nope, it’s “Jor-El”. Apparently “Superman’s” dad (or if they’re really lame “some verision” of him) is evil and hate humanity now.

I guess the burden of being 1% better than “Marvel” was too much and they want to give that up now… It was good run… Okay maybe there’s some possibility of this being good. Personally I doubt it though. What do you think?

Tomorrow these guys return to discuss “Mr. Phil” some more and typical confusion ensues. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

One thing I didn’t mention that came out during “San Diego Comic” was the teaser for “Krypton”. Why is this happening? There’s something fundamental that people just aren’t getting. Story start at a certain point because that’s the part where it gets interesting. I got into this before with “Star Wars”. Does anyone really care what happened on “Krypton”? If they do, do they care enough to watch a whole series about it. Prequels are almost universally a bad idea. I can’t think of one good one.

Flashback stories can work if they help to inform what’s going on currently. Straight up prequels though? Nah! Plus it’s on “Syfy” channel and I can’t even remember the last time a good show was on there.

I’m not really against “Superman” and “Wonder Woman” as a couple… I just enjoy making fun of it. I think them being together really works in “Kingdom Come”.  I don’t think them being together works in the “Dark Knight Returns” comics though.  Also I’m not sure them being together always worked in the “New 52”.  I think if “Lois Lane” is around “Superman” is always destined to be with her, but if she isn’t him and “Wonder Woman” make sense as a couple.

Tomorrow The Minstrel and Freedom Female return with The Good Knight to talk about issues between Freedom Female and The Good Knight. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!
