That’s Action Comics #252, which is the first appearance of Supergirl.  If you’ve followed these comics, and this blog you may have seen I’ve done a few of these homage covers (some being a combination of several covers).  In the past I wouldn’t mention the original, and that if people got that it was a homage cover it would be a little bonus for them.  I now realize that’s kinda dumb sorta defeats the purpose of doing them in the first place.  So yeah anyways that’s Q-girl.  The Butterfly Song is a whole other story.  Me and my co-worker Reagan Myers (who also came up with many of the initial ideas for The Bastardized Ninja) started exchanging shows that we hadn’t watched, and I gave him Mad Men to which to both our surprises he liked a lot.  One day he just came up with this tune he imagined would be an “end song” for an episode of Mad Men going “my daughter plants flowers in the summer time”.  It was weird and creepy so it made it’s way here.  Next time we’re back with a new Bastardized Ninja, where at least one of the mysteries left in the wake of the “3-Way Orgy Of Violence” storyline is addressed in a epilogue.  In the next Q-boy short we see the first appearance of Q-girl in the comics.  That’s it for now.  Don’t touch your butteflies, don’t try to marry off your sister, and see ya next time!

So Jerome tells his side.  Nice guy that Jerome, real positive, and all that.  In the next Q-boy short (which I just finished, and boy was it a grind getting it done by today) we see Q-girl’s first appearance.  There’s also this weird song involved with it.  Next time the big conclusion to the fight between Richie and Yakuza Kim in the next Bastardized Ninja short!  That’s all for now, see ya next time, and go out there and vote.  I went early and was in and out in minutes.  Enjoy!

And so Q-boy enters the world of TV… and leaves just as quickly… Or does he?… Yeah pretty much!  Although, Adult Swim if you’re looking for a show… Just sayin’.  I mean I don’t think Boondocks is coming back this time.  And come on one less episode of Family Guy a week ain’t gonna kill ya. Okay enough blatant fishing, back to the comic. So it looks like poor Jerome is out of a job.  We’ll hearhis side of things in the next Q-boy short.  Next time it’s the last panel of The Bastardized Ninja #31.  See ya then, and hope you enjoy!

Q-boy Short # 18 Jerome’s In The House / The History Of Q-boy Part 16 (Censored)

Been a while but here’s a new Q-boy short finally.  It was difficult coming up with a way to clearly show one person talking in many “voices” in a comic.  I settled with with using multiple colors for the word balloons.  Just to make it super clear the yellowish balloons are when Jerome is speaking in Rod Rapier’s voice; the light blue balloons are when he’s speaking as Steve Crandall; the pink balloons are for Vanessa Jennings; the orangish balloons are for Penny Biggal; the darker blue is for Zane Zartarian/Q-boy; and the brownish balloons are for Black Jim.  That’s pretty much it for this one.  Next time it’s finally the whole page for The Bastardized Ninja #30.  See you then, and enjoy!

So we now have a good picture of Q-boy’s supporting cast.  Rather than a “pal” like Jimmy Olsen he’s got a jerk out to get him.  Rather than a flirty co-worker like Betty Brant (I’m getting this more from the Spider-Man movies than the comic) he’s got a gold-digging office administrator.  He does have a less useful version of Etta Candy though (she’s from Wonder Woman if you didn’t know).  How does Black Jim fit in?  You’ll have to see next time….
