The History Of Comics With Q-boy # 50 The Inventive Designer And His Wonderous Creations (Censored)
Happy 50th comic people! I decided to rename the comic “The History Of Comics With Q-boy” from “Q-boy Shorts” because I think the title was confusing and didn’t really work anymore. When I originally started this comic I intended to do a long-form Q-boy comic and a short comic that would be posted more often. I also had a completely different story I wanted to do that really made no sense the more I thought about it. So I changed that story to the what we have now which is this messed up version of the history of comics.
This specific comic is about the artist Carmine Infantino who among many other things created the Barry Allen version of the Flash (which basically started the Silver Age of Comics); and the Barbara Gordon version of Batgirl. He didn’t create Spider-Woman but he did draw some issues of the comic. He also drew many Adam Strange comic which is where all the jet pack stuff comes from. Now let’s break down the panels…
- Panel 1 is based on the covers to Flash #163 (which you can see here http://images.wwcomics.com/images/large/Flsh_163_Sav.jpg and Myststery In Space #11 (which you can see here https://d1466nnw0ex81e.cloudfront.net/n_iv/600/763567.jpg )
- Panel 2 is based on the cover to Flash #131 (which you can see here http://vault.worldofsuperheroes.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Flash-131-FN.jpg )
- Panel 3 is based on the cover to Mystery In Space #60 (which you can see here http://popdaddyvintage.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/mysteryinspace60-40s.jpg )
- Panel 4 is made up from the covers to Showcase #4 (which you can see here http://behindthepanels.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Showcase4_c.jpg ); Spider-Woman #1 (which you can see here https://qboyandtheninja.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/b3a21-spdwmn1_cover.jpg ); Detective Comics #359 (which you can see here http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/A1CCdXXjzsL.jpg ); some elements of this image ( which you can see here https://qboyandtheninja.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/cc7b7-03-infantino-adam-026-027-rev8-12-2.jpg ); and the cover of Mystery In Space #76 (which you can see here https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/14/68/db/1468db436141e2c2f95f4b26c65b48df.jpg )
All that and I barely got Q-boy in here. That’s it for this one. Next time on “The History Of Comics With Q-boy” we meet the White Swallow, and I have a feeling we’ll meet her even sooner though. Tuesday-Thursday check out “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations”. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!
