Jade Archer, Mr. Mystic, & Red Witch On Using Magic To Alter Time

Yesterday I said was going to try to wait and watch the Dr. Strange trailer as it premiered on Jimmy Kimmel and make a comic about it for the next day.  I now realize that was insane. So as I’m writing this now the trailer hasn’t been shown yet… I also got a better idea that involved Jade Archer and Red Witch.  Here’s the thing, the Suicide Squad trailer and the new Civil War footage kinda threw off my plan for this week.  Originally everything was going to be about Black Canary dieing on “Arrow” and the “Dr. Strange” and “Rogue One” trailers. Trying to stay on top of nerd stuff has been hectic lately.

For Mr. Mystic I figured this guy who is this master of magic would be old (and extremely grumpy). Jade Archer here is references some backlash I’ve seen about Black Canary dieing on “Arrow”.  I’ll get into it more tomorrow but I don’t get it. Tommorow (unless plans drastically change again) White Swallow returns along with Q-boy to discuss her character’s death on the “Jade Archer” show, and the trailer for “Space Saga Side Story: Rebel Girl And Her Crew”. See ya then and hope you enjoy!

So this is about two things.  One is the new “Suicide Squad” trailer, and the other is the Black Canary dying on “Arrow”.  My thoughts on the trailer? Same as everything I’ve seen so far which is “it might be good, Will Smith takes me out of the movie anytime I see him, and I don’t like what they’ve done with Harley Quinn”.  That new footage from “Civil War” though… Maaan it looks awesome!

The weird thing I found about Harley Quiin is that she started out as some kind of therapist for the Joker and over time she falls in love with him, but suddenly becomes all crazy and ditzy. So with The Minstrel here I figured I’d make her still the doctor she was to begin with. Also too say the least my version of the Joker is VERY different but that’s for another day.

As for Black Canary dying on “Arrow”…. I don’t really care.  I like Arrow a lot. In fact I think it’s the best of the DC Comics shows.  I’ll get back to this subject later this week I think.  Tomorrow I’m going to try something kinda crazy.  The trailer for “Dr. Strange” is suppose to premiere on “Jimmy Kimmel” tomorrow and I’m going to try to make a comic right after for the morning after. See ya tomorrow and hope you enjoy!

The History Of Comics With Q-boy # 50 The Inventive Designer And His Wonderous Creations (Censored)

The History Of Comics With Q-boy # 50 The Inventive Designer And His Wonderous Creations (Censored)

Happy 50th comic people!  I decided to rename the comic “The History Of Comics With Q-boy” from “Q-boy Shorts” because I think the title was confusing and didn’t really work anymore.  When I originally started this comic I intended to do a long-form Q-boy comic and a short comic that would be posted more often.  I also had a completely different story I wanted to do that really made no sense the more I thought about it.  So I changed that story to the what we have now which is this messed up version of the history of comics.

This specific comic is about the artist Carmine Infantino who among many other things created the Barry Allen version of the Flash (which basically started the Silver Age of Comics); and the Barbara Gordon version of Batgirl.  He didn’t create Spider-Woman but he did draw some issues of the comic. He also drew many Adam Strange comic which is where all the jet pack stuff comes from.  Now let’s break down the panels…

All that and I barely got Q-boy in here. That’s it for this one. Next time on “The History Of Comics With Q-boy” we meet the White Swallow, and I have a feeling we’ll meet her even sooner though.  Tuesday-Thursday check out “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations”.  Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

One of my twists on Captain America with America-Man is that he hates his sidekick Rusty while (especially in the movies) Cap and Bucky were like the best of friends.  Speaking of friends one thing I’ve found interesting is that the trailers for “Captain America: Civil War” have a part where Cap is like “Bucky’s my friends” and Iron Man is like “so was I” or something…. Only things is… They never were friends.  They meet in “The Avengers” and are antagonistic towards each other until pretty much the very end.  In “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” Cap has to fight something partially created by Stark. Then in “Age Of Ultron” they’re even more antagonistic towards each other until pretty much the very end.  These are two guys who at best begrudgingly respect each other’s respective skills and work together, but they certainly aren’t friends.

Cap & Bucky = Friends

Cap & Black Widow = Friends

Cap & Falcon = Friends

Iron Man & Bruce Banner = Friends

Iron Man & War Machine = Friends

With that said that’s it for this week.  Next week (the newly retitled from Q-boy Shorts) double sized History Of Comics With Q-boy # 50!  Then on Tuesday- Thursday new Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations! Hope you enjoy and see you then!

Although I’m sure it will be awesome the whole thing with Netflix’s “Defenders” show is kinda weird.  I’m no expert of the Defenders (in fact I don’t think I’ve ever read a “Defenders” comic), but I don’t think any of the characters that are suppose to be part of it have ever been part of the “Defenders”.  The “Defenders” themselves seem to be a bunch of characters Marvel slapped together to try and re-create the Avengers (although “The Champions” seems like an even stranger spin on this idea).

By the time this comic is posted I should have finished watching season 2 of “Daredevil”.  Wow this show is great, and Marvel would have to be dumb not to follow up with a “Punisher” show. Damn shame DC doesn’t have an equivalent.

Tommorow we get America-Man’s take on being part of a team.  Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

The Good Knight On Being Part Of A Team

ccc-26-goodknight

When I thought about my version of Batman I thought about what Batman does completely out of context.  If you take everything away at the end of the day mostly Batman is a rich man who beats on mostly poor people. Take that idea to the extreme and you get The Good Knight.

What’s great about Batman is that he’s a normal man who can stand next to the most powerful people on the planet in the Justice League and even strike fear in many of them.  I figure that has to come at quite a price. A price far greater than the hard work necessary to be that strong, smart, precise etc.   To me that price is his humanity.  On the inside he’s basically a computer that can act like a person well enough to get people to do what he needs them to do to continue his war on crime. Anyways that’s my thoughts.  Tomorrow Blind Fury chimes in superteams.  Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

“Batman V Superman” the movie that will make you think you’re going color blind…

Seriously though if you liked “Batman V Superman” that’s great I’m happy for you. I guess even envy you in a sense… That being said some of the defenses for it are ridiculous.  The first one it that “it’s making money”…. Well yeah you have 3 of the most iconic characters in history in one movie. Hell there are grandparents who have waited their whole lives to see them all on screen.  Of course it’s making money! It’s too big to fail! If this movie doesn’t break every record ever I see that as a pretty big failure.  Marvel did this with C and D list characters and in most cases they were critically successful as well.

The other argument I see from the actors and other people is “this movie wasn’t made for critics”.  C’mon buddy… I’ll give you critics are generally wrong sometimes.  One example is “Juno” which had like the highest score ever on Rottentomatos and it’s terrible. Another is “Machette Kills” which was pretty great but got bad reviews.  9 times out of 10 though if something gets bad reviews its a bad movie.

Ya know I think I’m done talking about “Batman V Superman”.  Just be even handed here some stuff DC does well…

  • All there TV shows are pretty good except “Gotham” which sucks and are waaay better than “Agents Of Shield” and “Agent Carter”.  The Marvel Netflix shows are on a whole other level of great though
  • The direct to DVD animated movies are great (Marvel’s are terrible)
  • Haven’t played the Arkham games but pretty much everyone says they’re good

What’s frustrating is the Marvel and DC really could learn from each other.  I want them both competing as hard as they can for my time and my dollars. Alright enough already, that’s it for this week.  Next week more Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations Tuesday-Thursday.  See ya then and hope you enjoy!
