The Last Distraction Of Distraction Lass (Update 4)

qbs65(update4)

I write these things for the comics the morning before you see them. I’m too tired to write at night when I setup the posts for these comics. I say this because once again I’m in a position where I don’t know what you’re going to be seeing.

“The History Of Comics With Q-boy” as a whole for a while has been a journey of “learning from the masters” for me. I’ve been trying to learn by drawing in the styles of many of the great artists in comics. These last comics taking place in the “Silver Age Of Comics” are sort of like a final exam for me. The test is to take all the artists I’ve used (and a few new ones) and sum up the end of the “Silver Age Of Comics”.

That’s it for this week. Monday we’ll be back with another update on this comic. Then be ready for more “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” on Tuesday-Thursday. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

I’ve finished all the word balloons and now it’s on to the actual drawing. This is from panel 1 of the comic. If you know your “Dragonball”Kill-man is doing something like the “multi-form” technique. Basically it’s splitting into several slightly weaker bodies.

We’ll have another update on Friday. Tomorrow through Thursday check out new “Criminal And Crimefigher Conversations”. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

I’m still making slow progress on this one. I had to make thought bubbles for the first panel and they took way to long to get right. As I write this I don’t know that what the image will be with this.

On Monday there will be another update on this comic. Then on Tuesday-Thursday check out new “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations”. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Sorry don’t got a full panel done yet. I’m trying out a new way of doing these comics where you setup all the word balloons first. That way you can then draw around the word balloons so they don’t block out all the art. For many people who make comics its a huge no-brainer, but I always drew the comics then tried to fit in the word balloons. Then I got slightly smarter and at least did narration boxes first.

With that said, doing it this way makes getting to the actual drawing part take longer. This here is my thumbnail/writing phase of the comic. Usually I post these on Twitter and Instagram on afternoons. You can see that I already altered the original title.

Tomorrow-Thursday check out new “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” and we’ll have another update on this comic on Friday. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

This panel mimics the cover to “Green Lantern” 75 by artist Gil Kane. You can check it out here http://bit.ly/gl75cover . “Green Lantern” 75 is significant because it is the last issue before the title started a classic run. The title was then written by Dennis O’Neil with art by Neal Adams.

“Green Arrow” was also added to the book as co-star. According to “Wikipedia” this is also seen as part of the end of the Silver Age of Comics.

That’s really it for this week. On Monday we return with another panel from “The History Of Comics With Q-boy” 64. After that check out new “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” on Tuesday-Thursday. Finally next Friday you’ll get the complete “The History Of Comics With Q-boy” 64 comic.
