Q-boy Short # 25 First Wave Feminism Has Taken Human Form / The History Of Q-boy Part 23 (Censored)

And so with her brown hair and her gold and green costume, Freedom Female comes to rep for the ladies hard!  If this looks somewhat familiar it should because as Freedom Female is obviously based on Wonder Woman, this comic is based on the cover of the comic Wonder Woman first appeared in Sensation Comics #1.  As shown below…

Next time we go into Freedom Female’s creation and reveal the second of our 3 Q-ladies.  Its a story that involves a pretty non-traditional relationship, and the usual over-the-top shenanigans you’ve come to expect from these comics.   If you know your Wonder Woman history you might be able to guess some of it, but I’m open to guesses… Hope you enjoy and see ya next time!

Yeah pretty messed up huh?  Sad part this is not far removed from actually Superman comics with Supergirl.  The first panel is actually based on a Batman comics where Robin is being kissed by Bat-girl.  Nope that’s not a typo, and no that’s not the Batgirl most people know Barbara Gordon (or Stephanie Brown, or Cassandra Cain for you nerdier pre-New52ers) but Betty Kane the OG Bat-girl, niece of the OG Batwoman.  Anyways panel 1 is based on this…

Panel 2 is based on a Superman comic that is pretty much just as ridiculous and weird as the panel suggests.  This bizzare and kinda disturbing storyline is explained more in an article on Comic Book Resources here.  The look of the panel is based on the first panel of this page

So that’s the story of Q-boy’s unhealthy fascination with his sister, and how weird comics got back in the day.  Next time we see Freedom Female again how she leads to another Q-lady. You gotta wonder though how bad time going back in time and having Superman bang Cleopatra would screw up time…

The Bastardized Ninja Short # 36 Goodnight Ninja [Season 1 Finale] (Censored)

… And so ends “A Long Night With The Ninja” the first season of The Bastardized Ninja.  Our friend Richie has fought security guards, stolen his father car, robbed a convenience store, been chased by cops, fought mobsters, and had an epic battle with Yakuza Kim.   Along the way we’ve seen robots, zombies, clones, time travel, and one time we even saw Richie’s girlfriend.  It’s been one wild ride and a hell of a lot of fun telling this story.  Next season promises to be even crazier as we answer questions like:

“What was the deal with the guy in the all yellow room with the monkey?”

“Did that guy just get mummified while still alive, and what’s the deal with that?”

“Seriously the one chick only appears once!” [Not really a question there pal]

“Those clone Opposite Numbers guys… Wtf?!”

“Zombie Mobsters?!”

“Is that guy really on meth?”

“The dragon didn’t really do much. I’m disappointed” [Also not a question]

“Way back the ninja guy said something vague about a day job.  Is that gonna be a things or something?”

So Q-girl is revealed to world in all her mild mediocre glory.  In the next Q-boy Short we’ll see the “interesting relationship” between Q-boy and Q-girl… I’ll just silver age comic books got weird at times… Next time is the final Bastardized Ninja of this season where we’ll see where Richie lives.  What kind of place do you think our trash talking possibly sociopathic ninja lives in?

So yeah… Things ain’t looking to good for our boy Yakuza Kim here, but does this give us a chance for him to return… We’ll see… Okay fine yes he will return.  Still if you were mummified while alive would you even want to return?  To say the least when he does return he is going to pissed and the ninja known as Richard Richardson is going to be the target of his rage.  In the next Bastardized Ninja we close out this season with our favorite foul-mouthed self-absorbed ninja with a look at his home.  The next post will be an all new Q-boy Short were Q-boy introduces Q-girl to the world, and tagging along is a superheroine by the name of Freedom Female.  Anyways folks don’t fake your way into a job, don’t plan to blind the people who prepare your body after you die, and generally don’t be a rube.  Hope you enjoy, and see you next time!

And so Q-girl officially appears in the comics… U and Q-boy clashing over her will be revisited in the future.  Especially, Q-boy’s… protectiveness of her.  This comic is based on the cover of Captain Marvel Adventures # 18, which was the introduction of Mary Marvel.

In the next Q-boy Short we’ll see Q-girl’s grand introduction to the world by Q-boy, and we’ll even meet fellow super heroine, Freedom Female for the first time.  Next time a new Bastardized Ninja where we finally see the fate of Yakuza Kim.  Guess that’s it for now. Yep those were the guys in the tubes in Dr. Ahfizzinutt’s lab seen as far back as The Bastardized Ninja #7 (or the censored one) as well as #31 (and the censored one).  If the second to last panel looks familiar that’s because it’s based on N.W.A’s “Straight Outta Compton” album cover.

Where do the Opposite Numbers go from here? Guess we’ll see in season 2.  Speaking of which I just finished the last page of what will be season 1.  It was a complex piece, but very fun to do. Q-boy Short Holiday Special 1 – It Sure Sucks To Be Q-boy’s Partner On Christmas (Censored)

We interrupt our normal Q-boy Short with this 1988 Holiday Special…

So this one is very much a homage/parody of this Deadman story where he runs into a chick who is pretty clearly Pre-Crisis Supergirl from the 1988 comic “Christmas With The Superheroes #2”.   I first heard of this story from a post on this blog Too Busy Thinking About Comics . This story was also voted as the #1 greatest Supergirl story on Comic Book Resources.  The main part of the story and the inspirations for most of the panels of this comic are part of that article so check it out there if you want.  It was an interesting challenge to sum up a story that was several pages into 7 panels.  You might notice the words look clearer than normal in this comic (especially when enlarged).  This is because I’ve started using Adobe Illustrator for the words and the balloons after learned that was better than using Flash for that.  Well I guess that’s it.  Don’t work too hard without recognition, don’t be self-righteous, let your partners come to the holiday part, and Happy Holidays to you all!  Next time a new Bastardized Ninja, see ya then!

The Bastardized Ninja Short # 33 3-Way Orgy Of Violence Epilogue 1 – Obtaining Brains, Pleasing Patrick, And Playing With Cats (Censored)

So who’da thought Mobsters + Zombie Gas (seen in The Bastardized Ninja # 28 or the censored verison) = Zombie Mobsters?  If you go back a bit you see that this comic closely matches The Bastardized Ninja # 6 or the censored version.  You’ll also notice Patrick and Cuntasia look vastly improved now.  Besides just naturally getting better drawing over time this is because The Bastardized Ninja #6 was the first one I drew using Abobe Flash, and was the first comic I did entirely digitally with the convertible laptop I use today. In the earlier comics I drew them on paper, scanned them, then colored, lettered, and all the rest in Photoshop.  What’s next for the Zombie Mobsters? Stay tuned, and find out.  I actually remembered Christmas was coming soon enough to actually do something, so… If all goes as planned in place of the usual Q-boy short there may be a little holiday surprise.  That’s it for now, protect your brains, play with your cats, and don’t piss off guys named Patrick. That’s Action Comics #252, which is the first appearance of Supergirl.  If you’ve followed these comics, and this blog you may have seen I’ve done a few of these homage covers (some being a combination of several covers).  In the past I wouldn’t mention the original, and that if people got that it was a homage cover it would be a little bonus for them.  I now realize that’s kinda dumb sorta defeats the purpose of doing them in the first place.  So yeah anyways that’s Q-girl.  The Butterfly Song is a whole other story.  Me and my co-worker Reagan Myers (who also came up with many of the initial ideas for The Bastardized Ninja) started exchanging shows that we hadn’t watched, and I gave him Mad Men to which to both our surprises he liked a lot.  One day he just came up with this tune he imagined would be an “end song” for an episode of Mad Men going “my daughter plants flowers in the summer time”.  It was weird and creepy so it made it’s way here.  Next time we’re back with a new Bastardized Ninja, where at least one of the mysteries left in the wake of the “3-Way Orgy Of Violence” storyline is addressed in a epilogue.  In the next Q-boy short we see the first appearance of Q-girl in the comics.  That’s it for now.  Don’t touch your butteflies, don’t try to marry off your sister, and see ya next time!
