Special-Girl, Spiderous-Man, & Quickie On Friends Hooking Up Friends (Censored)

Originally I thought the main topic of this week was going to be the supposed 4 hour long cut of “Batman V Superman” because the very idea of it is mind boggling.  First off the movie is terrible so why on Earth would you make this, and if you did make it why would you tell anyone.  Second the movie is already at least an hour too long as it is.  The surprising part about it is that it’s not even a “there’s just too much going on” thing like “Age Of Ultron” had.  No it’s too long because of boring stuff about trials and meetings and ham-fisted cliched stuff about “Gods” and stuff.  Could there actually be something good in this extra hour and a half? I doubt it. There’s probably more of Martha Kent telling Superman “save people, don’t, whatever”.

The saddest part is, is that there are great people out there making great DC Comics stories.  I saw the “Justice League VS Titans” movie and as with pretty all the DC Comics DVD movies it’s great! Why they’re not making a Teen Titans show based off this is beyond me.  Also I’ve been watching “Green Lantern: The Animated Series”  from a few years ago and it also great! Why this show isn’t still on or the people behind it not writing Green Lantern is again beyond me.  I could go on all day so I’ll just stop here.

Anyways try to keep clean kids cuz’ that’s it for this week.  See ya next week with a new “History Of Comics With Q-boy” where Q-boy meets the White Swallow and on Tuesday-Thursday new “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations”.  See ya then and hope you enjoy!

Q-boy Short Holiday Special 2 –  The Dimes Before Christmas… A Contest For Every Piece On Earth (Censored)

I honestly would like to do more holiday comics but I usually forget about it until it’s too late.  Christmas though is advertised so far in advanced that I actually have time to make one.  So I was racking my brain trying to come up with idea for a Christmas themed comic, and I woke one day and thought of “Superman: Peace On Earth” by Alex Ross, and then I thought of most of the rhymes which I quickly jotted them down.  I had recently rewatched Felicia Day’s web series “The Guild” on DVD and there was a special feature where they did their version of “The Night Before Christmas” so that inspired the rhymes.  Then I got the daunting/scary idea of actually trying to do the comic in a painted style like Alex Ross.  So I based the panels of the comic the following Alex Ross images…

So that’s that.  Since this will be the last post for this year I’d like to thank you all for reading these comics, and give an extra special thank you to all of you who have liked, retweeted, favorited, or shared these comics in any way.  I seriously appreciate it more than you can know.

As I mentioned in the last post I’ll be changing the name of these “Q-boy Shorts” comics to “The History Of Comics With Q-boy”.  Some other big plans for next year are the return of “The Bastardized Ninja” and the launch of a third comic “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations”. This new comic will be sorta like heroes and villians talking in the confessional room in a reality show. The plan for now is to continue the Q-boy comics until I get to the end of the Silver Age of Comics and then to take a break.  During that break The Bastardized Ninja comics will be posted.  With this new comic “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” the plan is to post these comics 3 times a week between posts of the other comics… We’ll see how it goes.  Anyways I hope you enjoy, happy holidays and have a great new year!

Oh yeah and I saw Star Wars yesterday and it kicked ass!

Q-boy Short #33 At Best This Is A Pissing Match / The History Of Q-boy Part 31 (Censored)

Sorry to be little late with this one.  Anyways you might notice this one overall looks a lot clearer than the other comics.  This is because is figured out a better way to make the comics.  The next paragraph will be shop talk so if you not interested you can just skip it.

[ShopTalk] So I’ve mentioned in the past that I used Adobe Flash to draw and color the comics.  Usually after this I would export the image as a .png file, and then add all the dialog using Adobe Ilustrator.  This would lessen the quality of the comic some.  After this I exported the image again to Photoshop and turned the image into a .jpeg to lower the file size so that the image will load quickly here.  Basically I was lowering the quality of the image twice. What I figured out was that I could avoid lowering the quality of the image in the first time by exporting the image in Adobe Flash as a .svg file instead of a .png file [/ShopTalk]

So there’s a lot of stuff going on with this one.  This comic is mainly based on the image below…

Justice League of America v1 #87 pg 25 Heroes of Angor IIOne problem was  I didn’t any place for Q-boy.  Also this whole thing was about the Justice League fighting the Avengers, and really its not the Justice League with Superman and Batman.  So I also used elements from this…

jla183Still there was not place for Captain America and I wanted to include one other member of the Q-four besides Q-boy so I also took elements from this…

avengers_93_fvfSo that pretty much how it was made.  Oh yeah Q-ball is saying “eating at Arby before this fight was an unfortunate decision”.  Next time U makes so friends and fights some “uncanny” heroes.   Oh one more thing what did everyone think of Antman?  Overall it was not bad, the chick was annoying and it dragged in the middle but still not bad.  Anyways as always hope you enjoy and see ya next time.

Q-boy Short # 29 Don’t Trust Those New &*#@%es / The History Of Q-boy Part 27

Here we have the grand meeting of the 3 Q-ladies, and Freedom Female to boot!  For this one I made some attempts at drawing in Adobe Illustrator, but once again it just wasn’t a good fit for me so I’m back to Adobe Flash.  We also see here Q-girl getting drunk which we will continually see as one of her defining character traits.  Wait is “getting a drunk” or ever being an alchoholic a character trait?  Anyways you can see this goes way back  of the first appearance of “modern Q-girl” way back on page 21 of Q-boy #2.  This cover below show what this comic was based on…

JLA_157_95Next time we’ll see two of our Q-ladies and we’ll be introduced Q-boy’s greatest rival Kill-man!  From there Q-boy with the help of some new creators really hits the Silver Age of comics running!  Should be a wild ride!
