I kinda messed up here. I thought yesterday’s episode of “The Flash” was the one where another version of “Black Canary” was suppose to appear but that episode is in 2 weeks.  Oh well…

So can they renew “Supergirl” for another season already? It not the greatest show ever, but it’s better than pretty much everything else on CBS.  Otherwise I’m going to have find some other show to watch on Mondays that isn’t “Gotham”.  It’s funny a friend of mine still watches it and tell me about because he won’t stop watching it for some reason.  It sounds dumber and dumber by the second.

Tomorrow Succubus, Red Witch, and Drizzle discuss the possibility of The Fresh-Men and The Revenge Squad being in the same movie. See ya then and hope you enjoy!

Marvel gets it.  It’s just that simple. They played coy with us for a while but we’re getting the “Punisher” show.  They give us a taste of something awesome and then give us more of it.  DC seems to have the opposite approach… We saw “Man Of Steel” and were like:

“Um we like the action… Like good job on that, but um… The movie seems kinda dark and gloomy… Which is odd for a Superman movie.  Also Superman’s folks should encourage him to save people cuz’ that’s kinda the whole point of Superman… See he’s like a God but he’s a hero because of the people that raised him.  And again the 20 minutes of action were great but there a lot of really boring stuff… Also Superman probably should actually save people and shouldn’t kill people. Especially not in his first adventure… And if he does have to kill… It has to be a really big deal…. In fact you guys should really start over.  Ya know you got this show “Arrow” that people like… You should base your movies in that universe.  And you know how Marvel has the little scenes after the credits. We really like those.”

DC replied with the giant “Eff you!” that is “Batman V Superman”.  “Oh you didn’t like our Superman movie, well we’re gonna screw up Batman too! And for complaining here our Lex Luthor! Now take this movie and like or you don’t even want to know we’ll do to Wonder Woman”.

“You know you already have a Flash people really like…. Nevermind”.

So anyways “Civil War” comes out this week. And wow does it look good. And the reviews are even better. People are saying it’s the best comic book movie yet.  Can it possibly dethrown “The Dark Knight” as the best comic book movie?  I hope to find out on Saturday.  Tomorrow (unless plans change) Special-Girl, White Swallow, and Quickie talk about an appearance on Quickie’s TV show.  Hope you enjoy, and see ya then!

I know I said “that’s it for this week”, but I had the idea for this one and wanted to share it.  So here’s a special Friday edition of Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations. So here’s the two main things I wanted to get at with this one

  1. (If you don’t know or care about “Dragonball” you might wanna skip this) Goku being a crappy parent

People try to argue that Goku isn’t a crappy parent, but here’s the thing…. He abandons his family at every possible opportunity. See Goku never wanted to marry Chi Chi.  He agreed to when he was a kid and didn’t know what it was and then sorta went along with it later.  You never see Goku be like “I miss Chi Chi” or “man I can’t wait to bang Chi Chi” in the entire show.  Can’t really blame him cuz’ Chi Chi is a total nag.

Goku dies fighting Raditz and can contact anyone on Earth through King Kai. Does he ever contact Chi Chi? Nope! Goku escapes Namek’s explosion. Does he get back to his family as soon as possible or even let them wish him back to Earth? Nope! He learns Instant Transmission and teaches no one so he can always get away and no one can find him.

During the Cell Saga Goku actually spends time with Gohan training and then just chilling out for a while…. Which is strange because he could have actually kept training absolutely ensure he’d be able to beat Cell.  Instead he THINKS Gohan MIGHT be strong enough and puts the pressure of saving the world on his 11 year old son.  He EVEN gives Cell a sensu bean! …. Things don’t work out and Goku sacrifices himself by teleporting himself and Cell away when Cell tries to self-destruct.  Seems noble. Except Goku has plenty of time to get away.  He doesn’t.  He get’s killed again on purpose to get away from him family.

Think that’s crazy? After this Goku doesn’t contact his family at all for 7 years! Again he can contact anyone at any time with King Kai but chooses not to.  We know this because next thing we know Goku has another son that’s 7 years old that he doesn’t even know about.  As a side some people use one of the Dragonball movies as an example of how Goku is a good dad.  In the movie he teleports from heaven to help Gohan in a fight.  Usually movies are not considered cannon but this actually works against their argument.  This means Goku could teleport from the afterlife anytime and again chooses not to.

Then we get to the Buu saga where Goku withhold the fact he can turn Super Saiyan 3 and probably beat Buu early on because “the kids should beat him”. Then once again when that doesn’t work out and pretty much everyone is kills and the Earth is about to be destroyed Goku saves a relative stranger and his dog over his own kids.

Then we get to the end of Dragonball Z where first Goku once again is wants to blow off a gathering with friends and family so he can watch some dinosaur eggs or something.  Then at the very end he flies off to train with Uub and if you count GT he once again doesn’t contact his family for like 10 years.  Only seen less than 20 episodes of Super but yes he abandons his family to train in that too.  Goku is a crappy parent. There are many reasons I believe why he is that way, but I’ll get into that another day…

2. (If you don’t know or care about “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” you might wanna skip this) Buffy “dieing”

Technical dieing isn’t dieing. So Buffy drowns in Season 1 and from this we get a 2nd Slayer Kendra and then Faith when Kendra is killed.  All of this makes Buffy’s power make no sense.  If Buffy “died” then she should have either no power when she was revived; half power because she’s sharing it with another Slayer; or their should be no 2nd Slayer.

If Buffy died the 2nd time in “The Gift” then shouldn’t there be a 3rd Slayer? Speaking of “The Gift” most people see her jumping into the portal as this noble gesture, but I see it as just saying “eff it”.  Buffy risked the world by not killing this nonexistent person in the form of her sister, Dawn. Also irresponsibly leaving the world with no Slayer as Faith is crazy and was in jail at the point.

It pretty annoying when Marvel and DC kill off characters for cheap shock value, but it’s even worse when they cop out and the character didn’t even actually die.  Captain America and Batman both had “deaths” where they actually just when back in time.  What’s great is that some people always fall for this and this stuff actually gets news coverage.

This one has some references to “Crisis Of Infinite Earth” the big event of DC Comics that ended its multi-verse and was the first of many attempts to streamline its comics.  Ever sense it seems DC is always trying to streamline its universe and always making some big crossover to bring back the multi-verse.   The logic being the if you start over with a clean slate its easier for new readers to jump into comic.  The fatal flaw in that logic is that in the process all the older stories have the complicated explanation of not “counting” because they are “pre(insertbigcrossover)”.  Along with that characters people liked are erased, changed for the worse, and replaced by other characters.  This is why I’ve always preferred Marvel’s approach which is more like “well that happened but slightly differently”.

I generally don’t buy the whole “all the continuity scares new readers off” argument.  If people can follow “Game Of Throne”, “Buffy”, or “Love And HipHop” they can follow most comics.  Especially in this day and age with Wikipedia and Google. You don’t need to know a character’s entire history to read a comic. Hell the writers probably don’t know it.

So did ya’ll catch the new “X-men: Apocalyspe” trailer yesterday? So far it’s looking pretty good.  We might finally have a truly great X-men.  Honestly I was pretty disappointed with “Days Of Future Past”.  It’s not a bad movie but it’s kind of an “ugly shot that barely makes it in the basket” when it so easily should have been a “slam dunk”. Say what want about “X-men 3” (which gets way too much hate imo) but at least there’s a “fastball special” and “Wolverine” slices up a Sentinel. Both of which somehow don’t happen in “Days Of Future Past”.

Oh yeah I hear Beyonce dropped a little thing called “Lemonade”.  Wow that was nuts! I dunno I didn’t get most of it and didn’t like most of the songs… Anyways that was one crazy hour of TV…

If I don’t change my plans because something happens in comics that I want to cover this week tomorrow we’ll see Special-Girl, Q-boy, and Quickie talking about famous people dieing and reincarnation.  Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Here we have White Swallow would might have seen a little while back in Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations ( #29 & #31 which sorta refers to what happens in this comic).  The panels of this comic are based on covers drawn by Carmine Infatino including

In panel 3 Special-Man makes a reference to The Good Knight making a joke before. This referring to waaay back to Q-boy #2 on page 3. We also have the first appearance of Insect Dude.  For him I figured I’d combine Ant-man and The Atom as the serve basically the same purpose powers-wise.  Next time we meet a lady named Marlene in a double page special.  New Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations comics will be here Tuesday-Thursday. Originally I thought the main topic of this week was going to be the supposed 4 hour long cut of “Batman V Superman” because the very idea of it is mind boggling.  First off the movie is terrible so why on Earth would you make this, and if you did make it why would you tell anyone.  Second the movie is already at least an hour too long as it is.  The surprising part about it is that it’s not even a “there’s just too much going on” thing like “Age Of Ultron” had.  No it’s too long because of boring stuff about trials and meetings and ham-fisted cliched stuff about “Gods” and stuff.  Could there actually be something good in this extra hour and a half? I doubt it. There’s probably more of Martha Kent telling Superman “save people, don’t, whatever”.

The saddest part is, is that there are great people out there making great DC Comics stories.  I saw the “Justice League VS Titans” movie and as with pretty all the DC Comics DVD movies it’s great! Why they’re not making a Teen Titans show based off this is beyond me.  Also I’ve been watching “Green Lantern: The Animated Series”  from a few years ago and it also great! Why this show isn’t still on or the people behind it not writing Green Lantern is again beyond me.  I could go on all day so I’ll just stop here.

So once I again I changed my mind.  Yesterday I said I was probably going to post a comic with Headmistress about the rumors that the movie after “X-men: Apocalypse” was going to be about Phoenix, but decided to do this one with Special-Girl, Spiderous-Man, and Quickie instead.  Basically I try to go with whats trending and from what I was seeing on Twitter Supergirl, Spider-man, and The Flash was trending more.  The Headmistress comic will go into the bank I have for comics I’m saving as exclusives for Patreon.  Every week I make 7 comics.  The 3 I put out and the 4 I save for when I start using Patreon.  I’m waiting til’ I feel like I have a decent fan base to start with Patreon.

This one’s interesting because this is the 3rd version of what became today’s comic.  Originally the comic was  going to be Spiderous-Man basically talking about “Spider-man: Homecoming”.  Then it was going to be Headmistress talking about the rumors that the movie after “X-men: Apocalyspe” is suppose to be about “Phoenix” when I read about that yesterday.  Then I saw the finale to “Supergirl” and I figured I should do something about that.  So I figured I’d do something with some of all 3.

If nothing really big happens in comics that I feel the need to cover then tomorrow we’ll see the Headmistress comic. We’ll see what happens. See ya then and hope you enjoy!
