I haven’t finished “Iron Fist” yet. I forgot what was going on and had to rewatch episode 12 and only got halfway through it. So let’s move on to “Supergirl”. I’m a good ways into this week’s episode and I gotta say I’m already getting tired of her and “Mon-El”. Either they’re so lovey dovey it’s gross or they’re fighting about something stupid. Can this show get a “big bad” already?

I watched another episodes and a half of “Iron Fist” last night. I plan to finish it tonight. In my list of stuff that’s wrong with “Iron Fist” I did yesterday I forgot the biggest one. That is the fact that you never see this place “K’un-Lun” where “Iron Fist gets trained.

This seems to be a diberate choice, but I’d say it was the wrong one.

Again “Iron Fist” is decent, but not great. Tomorrow Jade Archer and Fiddy Fo’ talk to Hazard Hands about his show. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Special-Girl, Hazard Hands, Apex & Quickie On Hazard Hands’ Show

I’ve (half) watched the first 10 episodes of “Iron Fist” and it is true. “Iron Fist” in not was good as the other “Marvel” “Netflix” shows. Keep in mind that’s a HIGH bar to measure up to. “Daredevil”, “Jessica Jones”, and “Luke Cage” were each unique entertainment experiences. “Iron Fist” is not quite that.

What it is, is above average. I would say “Lucifer” is an average show. If they took it off I wouldn’t care but it’s enjoyable. It’s a procederal with some gimmicks that keep it interesting. “Iron Fist” is better than that.

So what are the problems?

  • There’s a lot of “been there done that” in the first few episodes. “Batman Begins”, “Arrow”, “Dr. Strange”, and even “Legion” had covered this territory
  • There’s not a lot to “Danny Rand” as a character.
  • “Danny” does something kinda messed up which I’ll get into tomorrow
  • The best characters on the show are characters we already met
  • The action isn’t great. It’s not terrible, but especially after “Daredevil” you expect more
  • “Iron Fist” seemed to have to do the “heavy lifting” as far as setting up “The Defenders” show. Bottom line, it’s not great but it’s pretty good. Nowhere near as bad as critics have rated it.

Tomorrow Luscious Trapp replaces Apex and Quickie. Then Hazard Hands tries to figure out one specific criticism about his show. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

The Last Distraction Of Distraction Lass (Update 4)

I write these things for the comics the morning before you see them. I’m too tired to write at night when I setup the posts for these comics. I say this because once again I’m in a position where I don’t know what you’re going to be seeing.

“The History Of Comics With Q-boy” as a whole for a while has been a journey of “learning from the masters” for me. I’ve been trying to learn by drawing in the styles of many of the great artists in comics. These last comics taking place in the “Silver Age Of Comics” are sort of like a final exam for me. The test is to take all the artists I’ve used (and a few new ones) and sum up the end of the “Silver Age Of Comics”.

Remember yesterday when I talked about all the stuff I wanted to try and do with my snow day off work? Didn’t do much of it. Haha! I got a little more sleep, and I got some things done earlier than normal. This did not lead to getting much more done in general though.

Now let’s talk about “The Flash”. Remember when “The Flash” was the fun light show as opposed to “Arrow” the dark show. Now it’s the show where “Barry” has to go to hell to save “Kid Flash” who’s in hell. Then “Jay Garrick” ends up staying in hell to save them both. Can we get back to fighting villains? Non-speedster villains?

Out here in the DMV we got a big snow storm and I got the day off from work. It’s pretty sweet! I’m gonna try and get work done on these comics and I’ll see it I can catch on some comic reading. I’m still a couple weeks behind as far as reading comics. I also wanna read “Buffy Season 10” now that it’s finished.

Another thing I keep forgetting is “Iron Fist” comes out Friday. Reviews are pretty bad, but we’ll see. Anyways, that means that I’m more than likely going to introduce my version of “Iron Fist” in this comic next week. His name is Hazard Hands. He got a shoutout by Luscious Trapp (“Luke Cage”) in one of these comics once.

With “Logan” being the big comic book movie I thought about how “X23” is a clone. This made me think of other clones such a “Bizraro”. Hence we now had “Weirdera” a sort of “Bizarro” version of Special-Girl.

Let’s not switch subjects without warning to “Inhumans VS X-men”. So this series finally ended last we and I must say “bravo “Marvel”. You did the impossible. You took a situation where there were only the following options:

  • All mutants die as the planet is uninhabitable for them. This is because the “Terrigen” mist the creates “Inhumans” kills mutants for some reason. This mist was also going to affect the whole planet for some reason. This, of course, was never going to happen
  • All mutants where going to have to leave Earth for the same reasons. This more than likely was never going to happen, but they could’ve been dumb enough to do this.
  • Everything goes back to status quo making all this completely pointless

“Marvel” did option 3, but in a way that is took creativity to make it worse. The “Inhumans” finally discover that the mist will make Earth unlivable for mutants. So they “kindly” let the X-men use their convienient “deus ex machina” machine to fix everything. It even has a big red button. Well problem solved and all this was pointless… But wait there’s more!

“Emma Frost” isn’t satisfied and wants revenge for the death of “Cyclops”. So she has these “Sentinels” programed to kill “Inhumans” kill a bunch of them. All you see is some ships blow up.

Also they are none of the “Inhumans” anyone cares about. So even if you wanted to care the comic doesn’t let you. We then end with “Emma Frost” in her normal black lingerie costume but also with a “Magneto” style helmet. The helmet also has “X visor” thing that the last version of “Cyclop’s” costume had. So that’s about 20 years of character development for “Emma Frost” down the drain. She’s a straight up villain again. Making a comic pointless is easy making one that’s pointless and destroys characters… That takes work.

I’ve finished all the word balloons and now it’s on to the actual drawing. This is from panel 1 of the comic. If you know your “Dragonball”Kill-man is doing something like the “multi-form” technique. Basically it’s splitting into several slightly weaker bodies.
