Originally I was going to have Q-girl in this comic as well, but I saw that this one was already running long and I didn’t think she was going to add anything important. My first thought about Q-girl and Spiderous-Man meeting again after hooking up (and him catching an alien STD off her) during “The Utterly Insane 25 Hourly Comics Shebangabang” was that it would be a huge confrontation with yelling and screaming. Then I thought about it some more and thought “no the whole point is Spiderous-Man is a loser who lets people push him around. What if they became this really unhealthy couple”?

That there captures the fun of these comics for me. “Spider-Man” will never catch an STD, but Spiderous-Man will. If most of the first year of this comic was about recurring themes like “Special-Girl is addicted to “Synthetic Destroyer Element”” then this year is about expanding those themes into full blown storylines.  Ones where I’m not even sure where they’re going.

Happy Valentine’s Day folks! So if you watch “The Flash” you know how this comic is making fun of how “Barry Allen” and “Iris West” are now dating and living together even though “Barry” was adopted and and raised by the “Wests”. I’m not saying it’s wrong or anything, but I just find it strange no one ever say anything about it.  Even that dad is basically “sure Barry, bang away”. 

Another thing this comic makes fun of is last week’s episode of “Supergirl” where her sister Alex basically blows off her “Earth birthday” to hang out with her new girlfriend. Not cool, Alex!  I really wish “Supergirl” was like “okay you came out like yesterday! Sisses before misses”.

The last thing this comic touches on is “Willow” turning evil at the end of Season 6 of “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”. Man “Dark Willow” was great. I’ve said it before but she really should’ve died or been a recurring villain. Just making her good again was weak. Season 6 made her and “Spike” pretty irredeemable and glossing over that kinda messed up both characters. And now if you don’t “Buffy” this is way too “inside” so I’ll stop here.

Special-Girl, Jade Archer & Apex On “Going Dark” Again

So in this comic I mention “Team America” and specifically the “dicks, pussies, and assholes” scene. If you don’t know what I’m talking about you can check it out here http://bit.ly/teamamericaclip . It starts about 46 seconds in. 

To clean this up and adjust some let’s call them good people, okay people, and bad people.  I think the vast majority of people are varying degrees of okay people. People trying to live comfortably and usually not trying to hurt or take from anyone else. The best of us are good people who really do all they can to make the world a better place.  Then there bad people… This is where you have your socio/psychopaths. 

Most heroes turn bad at some point. This comic makes fun of one of the most famous examples which is “Green Lantern” going insane and turning evil after seeing his home “Coast City” destroyed. He goes on to kill all the other “Green Lanterns” become a full on villain.  Then yada yada a bunch of stuff happens and it’s all explained away be a yellow monster called “Parallax” making him do it. This is actually one of the better attempts to try to make hero good again after “going dark”.

If you’re thinking Special-Girl’s story was a bit “on the nose” then yeah I get ya. I sorta mentally debated it myself. Ultimately, I thought her being tended to by a Muslim couple added something interesting to Special-Girl. If you actually see the cover of the comic where “Supergirl” first appears it looks like a pretty horrible crash. So much so I made fun of in this comic here http://bit.ly/qgirlcomic .

I got pretty behind on comics and read a few from like 2 weeks ago. I read “Civil War II: The Oath” and wow… “Marvel” you need to just let all of this go. This is bringing down your whole line. This whole “Secret Empire” thing they’re leading up is combination of 2 already used ideas. “Captain America” running “Sheild” and bad guys running “Sheild” (cuz’ “Cap’s” history is still rewritten so he’s a member of “Hydra”).  Just make “Cap” regular “Cap” again already, and let’s completely move on from “Civil War II”. It didn’t work, let it go. Then there’s “Inhumans V X-men”… I just don’t how this can have a satisfying ending. They’re not going to get rid of most “Inhumans” and they’re not going to kill off most mutants. So what we’re just back to right where we are? On the plus side, again I recommend “Infamous Iron Man”.  That’s some good comic.

Q-boy & Quickie On Special-Girl Becoming Czar Of Superpowered Bitches

One of the weird things about making this comics is some of the biggest ideas that I’ve run with aren’t things I really planned out. For example the whole thing with a rumor going around that The Minstrel is Kellyanne Conway started with just the idea that Freedom Female (Wonder Woman) wanted to start a rumor about the The Minstrel (Harley Quinn) because she was jealous of her popularity. Then I just sat and thought “what would the dumbest and or worst rumor someone could start about woman”? Then Eureka! The Kellyanne Conway idea hit me.

Then when writing all the comics for “The Utterly Insane 24 Hourly Comics Shebangabang” that was part of HourlyComicDay last Wednesday I was just riffing on the idea that Blind Fury (Daredevil) wouldn’t want to bang any time of hero or villain chicks because he has a bunch of crazy exes already. That led Luscious Trapp (Luke Cage) talking about how he only can bang superpowered chicks. This then led to several comics riffing on the whole “diamond cookie” thing.  This all dovetailed into this idea that Special-Girl would meet with Trump because she figured at this rate the world was going to end anyways and at least she wanted to be on top when it did. And that’s when the whole thing where she ends of Czar Of Superpowered Bitches came. A bizzare un-American/ Russian title that is inherently messed up and kinda corrupt.

With that over-explanation out the way, tomorrow we swap out Q-boy for Apex (Wolverine) as Special-Girl finally starts talking again and they go into “going dark”. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Do you remember the first time you saw “Goku” turn “Super Saiyan” the first time. Most of us Americans knew it was going to happen and even what it looked like, but we didn’t know how it happened until we saw it.  It took extreme gravity training, nearly dying, fighting against a (at the time) basically unbeatable opponent, and the stress of seeing his best friend killed.  For ‘Vegeta” to do it he had to push himself to near madness. Basically it took extreme training and extreme stress.

Jump ahead and Goku reveals he could become “Super Saiyan 3” except he really can’t handle it. I think it’s suggested that the planet can’t even handle it which is something I think everyone seems to forget. Then younger characters (and one’s that are barely “Saiyan”) could just do it (except “Pan” of course because… reasons).

Jump to “Dragon Ball Super” where Goku becomes “Super Saiyan God”.  Which is just given to him… It’s kinda un-“Dragonball” to do that. Later “Vegeta” “does it on his own”, but that doesn’t make any sense. And they both become “Super Saiyan Blue”. I know there’s a “Super Saiyan Rose” as well but I don’t know if either of them achieved it yet. My point to all this is that these new transformations seem too easy and too fast. Again I like “Dragon Ball Super” but at this rate they’re going to run out of color pretty fast.

In case you’re lost or didn’t read yesterday’s comic this is a telepathic conversation that was going on during the conversation from yesterday’s comic between Mr. Mystic and Headmaster Fresh and unexpectedly Slowku gets involved. That just made you more confused didn’t it?

Speaking of Slowku let’s get back to “Dragon Ball Super”. One thing I kinda like about it is that it has shorter arcs. I don’t break down “Dragon Ball Z” into mini-arcs like most people. To me “DBZ” is The “Saiyan” or “Vegeta”  Saga, the “Freeza” Saga, the “Cell” saga, and the “Buu” saga. This plus some filler covers nearly 300 episodes. At around 60 episodes “Dragonball Super” has had the same number of sagas plus filler. Another good thing is at least in the “Ressurection Of F” arc characters that aren’t “Goku” or “Vegeta” got to do something.

Then there’s the problems… Like “Pilaf”…. He’s never been funny or a good character. He’s a relic of time when “Dragon Ball” wasn’t popular. And yet he keeps returning… Over and over again to waste time that could go to fighting or something interesting.  Along with him is “Shu” and “Mai”.  “Mai” is a whole thing by herself because of all this weird stuff with her and “Trunks”.  To be clear this is woman that is older and his mother in a child’s body.  Then time travel gets involved and it gets weird for the opposite reason.  All this should really just stop.

Last week I said something about “DC Comics” having better comics right now than “Marvel”… After catching on some comics this weekend I have to amend that. I’m not saying “DC” isn’t winning necessarily but it’s WAY closer than I thought.  I caught up on “Infamous Iron Man” (where “Dr. Doom” takes “Iron Man’s” place and tries to be good) and that’s a damn good comic. Is worth going through “Secret Wars” and “Civil War II” to get here? Probably not, but still…

Also “Dragon Ball Super” premiered last Saturday here in the US. I’d been following it through fan-subtitled versions. I’m not an anime purist. I prefer dubs over subs mainly because I more “listen” than watch anything.  “Dragon Ball” is one of the few things I’ll watch subbed when the dub isn’t available.  In fact this whole thing brings me back to when I would watch “Dragonball Z” on the “International Channel”. No “subtitles”, faded colors, but completely unedited and it was a few episodes ahead of the American version.

Back to “Super”, I think I was up to like the 56th episode or something. Honestly it’s… Okay. It’s WAY better than “Dragon Ball GT” though. The whole things is kinda similar to what is going on with “Star Wars”. Sure there’s part of me that just wants more, but there’s the part of me that says “let it go”.  It’s a weird pre-sequel that pretty much contradicts the actual ending of “Dragon Ball Z”. Then there’s the fact that nearly 30 episodes are just the last 2 “Dragon Ball” movies (“Battle Of The Gods” & “Ressurection Of F”) with lots of filler. The first episode in particular is nothing but pointless filler… But it’s “Dragon Ball”. They can endlessly repackage, and remix it and I’ll probably be there.

The 3rd One: A Vaguely Defined Q-boy Holiday Special

The main thing with this one is I wanted to draw some action and I wanted to show some of the characters you may have seen in “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” in action. The original idea was Q-boy talking to Special-Girl but as this comic points out that is pretty similar to the first holiday special. So I watched an IG story by this comic’s special guest Zee Bee aka @thegoofyartist where she talked about holding a door for this girl and the girl not saying thank you. For some reason that made the whole story click for me.  So I wrote this up and messaged Zee about it, and she gave me the okay to do it which was very cool of her. Cuz’ I couldn’t blame her at all it she was was like “no *block*”.

Speaking of her, let me properly introduce our special guest. Zee is someone whose work I ran into on “Twitter” a few years ago. She had a cool art style and she seems to have the same weird attention span problem that had her doing multiple webcomics like I do. Fast forward a few years and she likes I few of my pics on IG and I’m like “oh this chick, yeah I’ll follow her”. From following her on IG I find that she’s become this coloring/ animation master. She’s also pretty funny (the holidayclapbacks are always good for a laugh) and has a good taste in shows (“Dragonball”, “Simpson”, “Archer”, etc.). Mainly though she just has this slightly manic happy exuberant energy.  She does do the dog filter thing though… I don’t think girls her age can help it though.  Again thanks Zee, this holiday special doesn’t exist without you.

As for the moral of this story, do the right thing because it makes you feel good or because is makes logical sense.If we all do that 2017 will be better than last year. Let’s try to make it good one! Hope you enjoy and see ya then!
