I was pretty disappointed with last week’s season 3 premiere of “The Flash”.  It just seems like the same things over and over.  We’ve done time travel, we’ve done fighting other speedsters to death, and we’ve done alternate realities/ timelines. This alternate timeline wasn’t even all that interesting. I mean seriously, Caitlyn is an eye doctor?!

Tomorrow Luscious Trapp returns again along with Drizzle and Ms. Majors to talk about problems between Exceptions (mutants) and The Notpeople (“Inhumans”)

If you’ve been reading these comic for a while (and even more so if you follow me and Twitter and IG) you probably know I’m not a fan of “Agents Of Shield”.  Also as I said yesterday it really sucks they’re using “Ghost Rider” and not giving him a kickass “Netflix” show.  It truly sad because there’s no reason why the show should be as bad as it is. What it comes down to it the characters suck.  “Skye” (I’m never referring to her as “Daisy” or “Quake” because she was SUCH a bitch about her name) is pretty much unlikeable and what makes it worse is the plot CONSTANTLY basically screams “SHE’S IMPORTANT”. Every other character is varying ranges of dull, meh, or terrible. The only exception is “Simmons” who is decent.  They of course killed or got rid of every other okay to good character including:

  • “Grant Ward” – Easily the best character on the show and the only one who really acted like a spy (despite his TERRIBLE backstory). Naturally they end up killing and re-killing him
  • Deathlok – WHY DON’T THEY USE THIS GUY?!!! Literally one of the best characters from the very first episode, a genuine “Marvel” hero, and played by “Wheddon” show alum (as Charles Gunn on “Angel”) J. August Richards
  • The first black guy – I don’t remember his name (and I can’t even be bothered to look it up) and he wasn’t that great but he was WAY better than “Mac”. They killed this guy too
  • Hunter & Bobbi (Mockingbird) – Both okay characters. I know they got written off for a spinoff that didn’t work out, but yeah…

Oh I also make reference to an interview with Chloe Bennett (Skye) in this comic.  Even giving her the benefit of the doubt that she sorta joking the things she says about the “Marvel” movies acknowledging the show are crazy to me. You can check it out here https://qr.net/FQ4AtK

Tomorrow Luscious Trapp returns as we’re introduced to his wife Johanna Johnson and Belinda Bishop. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

The Spider is at it again, and again things don’t go well for them.  Here we meet this world’s version of “Nick Fury”, Dick Anger.  Figured since “Marvel” eventually made “Nick Fury” Black I’d just start with him being Black. All of the panels of this comic are based on the work of Jim Steranko, and specifically…

Next time there is a great search for a man known as “The Virtuoso”.  Check out new “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” on Tuesday-Thursday. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

The character Ron Rankenfile is based on the comic book artist Jim Steranko, and the panels of this comics are based on his work. On “Wikipedia” he’s described as “an American graphic artist, comic book writer/artist, historian, magician, publisher and film production illustrator. His most famous comic book work was with the 1960s superspy featureNick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.” inMarvel Comics’”Strange Tales” and in the subsequent eponymous series. Steranko earned lasting acclaim for his innovations in sequential art during the Silver Age of Comic Books, particularly his infusion of surrealism, op art, and graphic design into the medium”.  In this story I wanted to capture the idea that this he was truly a multi-talented person. On to the panels…

  • Panels 1-3 are based on 3 panels from “Nick Fury, Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” 1 which you can see here http://qr.net/bRgMM
  • Panel 4 is based on the cover of “Nick Fury, Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” 7 which you can see here http://qr.net/bRgN7
  • Panel 5 is based on the cover of “Creatures On The Loose” 22 which you can see here http://qr.net/bRgQ2
  • Panel 6 is based on the cover of “Strange Tales” 153 which you see here http://qr.net/bRgSm
  • Panels 7-10 are based on panels from “Captain America” 110 which you can see here http://qr.net/bRgUX

That’s it for this one. Next time we catch up with Q-boy’s ex-girlfriend Helen Seabrook AKA Miss Direction in an adventure that involves America-Man and introduces us to the man known as Dick Anger.  Look out for a special Independence Day “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” as well as the normally schedules comics on Tuesday-Thursday. Have a great Independence Day everyone! Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

It’s kinda weird how in “X-men: Apocalypse” there’s no mention that “Mystique” is “Nightcrawler’s” mom, especially when there’s all this stuff about “Quicksilver” being “Magneto’s” son.  It’s even weirder when “Nightcrawler’s” dad is clearly established in “X-men: First Class”.

Some other stuff hinted at in this comic is “Wolverine” killing his son “Daken” (who somehow came back and was re-killed by “Mystique” of all people) and his female clone “X-23” (who has taken the mantle of “Wolverine” since “Wolverine” is dead, although he supposedly appeared in an “Agents Of Shield” comic, and his older alternate reality counterpart “Old Man Logan” is running around).  Comics gotta love em’.

That’s it for this week. See ya next Tuesday-Thursday for more “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations”! Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

If you’re asking what “Pepe the frog” and “frog on a unicycle” are… I honestly don’t really know. In fact I didn’t know the “crying frog” was named Pepe for some reason for the longest time. Where did they come from? What do they really mean? No clue… But they are memes I see (especially on Instagram) and some of them are pretty funny. Also I don’t know who “Young Metro” is or about his trust issues. I wonder if this is what people who don’t comics feel when watching comic book movies.  Enjoying it but feeling like you’re missing something. Gee hope that isn’t how it feels to read these comics… Moving on…

So the big “Agents Of Shield” finale was last night. It sucked like almost every episode does.  A different person died than I thought but that person barely counts. Tomorrow we’ll hear from The Smasher, General Magnetic, and Dr. Do talk about our secret group of heroes from Monday’s comic.  Hope you enjoy and see ya then!
