Ms. Majors On Proteges

ccc-11-msmajors

In “Marvel” the current “Captain Marvel” is “Carol Danvers” who use to be “Ms. Marvel”. The current “Ms. Marvel” is a young Pakastani girl named “Kamala Kahn” who is also an “Inhuman” (cuz’ you can’t throw a rock without hitting one of them nowadays). There’s also “Monica Rambeau” who is a black woman (she now goes be “Spectrum”) who was “Captain Marvel” who I kinda combined with “Carol Danvers” for “Ms. Majors”.

All that is to say there’s a lot going on with the “Captain Marvel” and “Ms. Marvel” names. (And that’s without getting into the original “Captain Marvel” in “Marvel” who was a “Kree” spy or something that died of cancer or “DC’s” “Captain Marvel” which is now “Shazam” orginally created by “Fawcett Comics”).  I actually think making “Carol Danvers” into “Captain Marvel” is one of the few times where giving a character the mantle of another pre-existing character actually worked.  “Ms. Marvel” had a lot a baggage and “Captain Marvel” had been long forgotten at this point.

Tomorrow Wing-Man discusses when the possibility of taking the mantle of America-Man. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

The Innovator On Rumors He’s Being Replaced

ccc-66.2-theinnovator

It seems like the plan after “Marvel’s” current big event “Civil War II” is that a lot of the major characters are going to disappear (die?) and new/ lesser known characters are going to take their place.  One of the biggest examples is that new  “Iron Man” is suppose to be a 15 year old Black girl named “Riri Williams”.  Yep I think it is actually “Iron Man” and not some female version of the name. I think making her 15 makes it unrealistic even for a comic.  “Marvel” really has a a thing for having 2 characters sharing a name lately, but that’s something I think I’ll get into later.

Tomorrow Ms. Majors discusses being and having a protege. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Yep issue 2 of the “Captain America” comic where the “HydraCap” thing started came out and immediately showed it was all false memories created by the “Cosmic Cube” all orchestrated by the “Red Skull”.  There’s more to it but who cares.  You can all put your “TeamCap” shirts back on.  We’ll leave it at that. Hope you enjoy, happy 4th, and see ya tomorrow for a a new “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations”.

The character Ron Rankenfile is based on the comic book artist Jim Steranko, and the panels of this comics are based on his work. On “Wikipedia” he’s described as “an American graphic artist, comic book writer/artist, historian, magician, publisher and film production illustrator. His most famous comic book work was with the 1960s superspy featureNick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.” inMarvel Comics’”Strange Tales” and in the subsequent eponymous series. Steranko earned lasting acclaim for his innovations in sequential art during the Silver Age of Comic Books, particularly his infusion of surrealism, op art, and graphic design into the medium”.  In this story I wanted to capture the idea that this he was truly a multi-talented person. On to the panels…

  • Panels 1-3 are based on 3 panels from “Nick Fury, Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” 1 which you can see here http://qr.net/bRgMM
  • Panel 4 is based on the cover of “Nick Fury, Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” 7 which you can see here http://qr.net/bRgN7
  • Panel 5 is based on the cover of “Creatures On The Loose” 22 which you can see here http://qr.net/bRgQ2
  • Panel 6 is based on the cover of “Strange Tales” 153 which you see here http://qr.net/bRgSm
  • Panels 7-10 are based on panels from “Captain America” 110 which you can see here http://qr.net/bRgUX

That’s it for this one. Next time we catch up with Q-boy’s ex-girlfriend Helen Seabrook AKA Miss Direction in an adventure that involves America-Man and introduces us to the man known as Dick Anger.  Look out for a special Independence Day “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” as well as the normally schedules comics on Tuesday-Thursday. Have a great Independence Day everyone! Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Quickie On The Dangers Of Altering Time (Censored)

If you watched the last episode of the last of this last season of “The Flash” you saw the he went back and stopped his mom’s murder.  In the comics this lead to the “Flashpoint” event where a very dark alternate timeline is created in “DC Comics”. All this lead directly into the “New 52”.  With all this said, yesterday Grant Gustin (the actor that plays “The Flash” if you didn’t know) tweeted out that the title of the first episode of the next season of “The Flash” will be “Flashpoint”.  So yeah something that was very obvious if you read the comic was proven true.  I’m curious how they’re going to do “Flashpoint” as it seems like almost all the major characters are off limits for TV.

Tomorrow The Minstrel and Pussy Whip discuss the possibility of there being 3 different people who are the villain known as The Mad Jester. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Early on when coming up with these characters I thought it would be interesting to switch how the “Mr. Fantastic” and “Dr. Doom” characters interacted with each other.  So I made Mr. Stretch obsessed with Dr. Do and supremely arrogant, and generally a lot worse than him.  When you think about it “Dr. Doom” being obsessed with “Mr. Fantastic” is kinda silly.  The guy rules a country.  Weirdly enough with him being part of “The Illuminati”, “Marvel” had made “Mr. Fantastic” more like Mr. Stretch.

That’s it for this week. We start off next week with a new “The History Of Comics With Q-boy” where Q-boy along with The American World Protectors Of America help their teammate The Underwater Monarch with a problem.  Then Tuesday-Thursday new “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations”.  Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

The Innovator & Ms. Majors On People Who Can Predict The Future (Censored)

There’s several “Marvel” characters that have been able to predict the future so it’s really weird that this is the big thing that sets off “Civil War II”.  It’s also weird that a new character (one of those “Inhumans” that we all like better than “mutants”) was made up for this. What’s also weird is the major death in the first issue… (Spoiler Alert!)

So they supposedly killed off “War Machine” (“She-Hulk” also got hurt real bad too).  Since we saw what happened to “War Machine” in “Captain America: Civil War” its a strange choice to hit that same note so soon.  Death means nothing in comics so I guess it doesn’t really matter.

Tomorrow we end the week with The Innovator once again but this time along with his buddies from his secret group Headmaster Fresh, and Mr. Stretch to discuss predicting the future.  Hope you enjoy and see ya then!
