As this comic might suggest “Civil War II” #4 pushed me to really disliking “Civil War II”.   The argument makes no sense;”Ironman’s” position makes no sense; and good characters are being killed for no reason.

(SPOILER ALERT for “Civil War” #4)

So “Iron Man” discovers that this kid that can predict the future can only see the most probable future (which I could’ve swore he already found out last issue) and somehow that’s suppose to change everything. So “Iron Man” assembles the “Illuminati” to tell them this, and they’re basically useless and say little more than “I dunno”. Then dumb stuff happens and it’s finally a face off with “Iron Man” and his heroes vs “Captain Marvel” and her heroes… Except “Captain Marvel” calls in the “The Guardians Of The Galaxy”… I don’t buy it… Even if some tie-in comic explains it better I still don’t buy it… People traveling from space to be a part of this dumb fight breaks my suspension of disbelief.

Next time Ms. Majors talks about this stuff. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Special-Man, Freedom Female, & The Good Knight On Special-Man’s Treatment In Movies

So last week was “San Diego Comic-Con” where every comic book related (and a lot of stuff that isn’t) thing showed off teasers, trailers, and info of all types.  Arguably the biggest thing was the release of the first trailer for “Justice League”.  Gotta say not looking great… The trailer has little action and look colorless like the last few “DC” movies.  Also there’s a scene that’s has been sold SUPER hard as showing how “light” the movie is suppose to be with “Batman” (acting a LOT like “Nick Fury”) recruiting “The Flash” (whose costume looks dumb) and it’s nothing special.

What did look pretty good was the “Wonder Woman” trailer.  There’s actually some decent action and humor and the lasso looks pretty damn cool.

Another thing that happened last week was “Batman V Superman: Ultimate Edition” was released.  I saw it and it is actually better. Only marginally though. It’s less “jumpy” and some things are made clearer.  A lot of those things aren’t important though.

Tomorrow Blind Fury talks about teasers for his show and The Defense Squad among other things. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

“Goku” VS “Superman”.  The debate over who would win has raged endlessly.  Truthfully I don’t think the question is really answerable.  When you say “Superman” there’s a least 4 different versions to consider

  • “Pre-Crisis” – Given more and more powers over time to compete with rival characters like “Captain Marvel/Shazam”. Able to do stuff like juggle planets. Basically unbeatable
  • “Post-Crisis”/ “Pre-Flashpoint” – The “Superman” most of us would know best from comics as this version of Superman  from 1986 to “DC Comic’s” “Flashpoint” event.  Strangely enough, since “DC Comic’s” “Rebirth” event this is now the current version of “Superman”.  Comics gotta love em’.
  • “New 52” – Version of “Superman” from “Flashpont” to “Rebirth”.  So the “newest” version of “Superman”, but around for the shortest amount of time.  Supposedly dead for now.
  • “TV/Movie Versions” – Tends to be much weaker than other versions.  Generally, requires effort to lift things like planes or space shuttles.

Then with “Goku” there’s issues of what is considered cannon and what isn’t.  Generally, “Dragonball GT” is considered not be cannon because “Dragonball’s ” creator Akira Toriyama had little to do with it.  The most recent series “Dragonball Super” is generally cannon though.

The website “ScrewAttack” did an episode of it’s “Death Battle” series where “Goku” and “Superman” fought which really re-ignited this debate.  Personally, I think “Goku” very under served in the video. You can see the video here http://screwattack.roosterteeth.com/episode/goku-vs-superman-death-battle

This guy “Kakarot88” did an incredibly long and detailed post on how this battle was flawed.  Unfortunately, I don’t think the entire post exists anymore and I can only find a (relatively) small portion which you can check out here http://screwattack.roosterteeth.com/post/51220549 . From what I remember his conclusion was that cannon “Goku” (this was before the recent “Dragonball” movies or “Super”) could not defeat “Superman, but non-cannon “Goku” (as used in the “Death Battle” video) who can become “Super Sayian 4” and use the “Dragon Fist” attack (an attack only used in movies and “GT”) could defeat “Superman”.  To me in the post it was being extremely conservative with “Goku’s” abilities, and as accurate as possible while giving “Superman” every advantage from sources that may or may not be cannon for him.

Also while writing this I discovered “Screw Attack” did a sequel to this battle (which you can check out here http://screwattack.roosterteeth.com/episode/death-battle-season-2-25 ). So I’m going to watch that and continue this…

*elevator music*

Even worse than the first one.

It doesn’t matter that “Superman” wins it’s that “Goku” is underpowered.  Examples are given of “Superman” lifting “infinite weight”, but it’s not mentioned that “Goku’s” punches with the God “Beerus” are felt across the universe (and into other planes of existence).  And this is before “Goku” becomes “Super Saiyan Blue”.

Anyways that’s it for this week.  Next week starts off with a new “History Of Comics With Q-boy” where a man known as “The Illustionist” is enlisted to help after trouble comes to Q-boy Comics.  Then there will be new “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” Tuesday-Thursday. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

I like “Batman”. It’s basically impossible not to like “Batman”. It’s annoying when people make him better and smarter than everyone else though.  The worst is when people make “Superman” dumb to make “Batman” smart.

So with this “Justice League” movie everybody is saying it’s “lighter” than “Batman V Superman”.  This is a bad sign.  When something is “pushed” like this it usually means something bad.  Also the in the description for “Justice League” it basically says “Batman” regains his faith in humanity after seeing “Superman” sacrifice himself”. Why would seeing an alien that you were trying to kill 5 minutes ago sacrifice himself (and its questionable if he really had to seeing as “Wonder Woman” could have done what he did without dying) make you regain your faith in regular human people?

That’s it for this week. See ya next Tuesday-Thursday for more Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

So this whole thing with “Batman” thinking there are 3 “Jokers” started with the “Darkseid War” storyline that just ended in “Justice League”.  At some point “Batman” takes the chair of the “New God” “Metron” and that gives him knowledge of everything of something.  I haven’t read it so I’m not sure.  I stopped reading “Justice League” right after “Forever Evil”.  Honestly, I haven’t liked “Justice League” since the “New 52” started.

Tomorrow Special-Man, Freedom Female, and The Good Knight discuss some news about The American World Protectors Of America movie and certain “ideas” The Good Knight has. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Quickie On The Dangers Of Altering Time (Censored)

ccc-61-quickiec

If you watched the last episode of the last of this last season of “The Flash” you saw the he went back and stopped his mom’s murder.  In the comics this lead to the “Flashpoint” event where a very dark alternate timeline is created in “DC Comics”. All this lead directly into the “New 52”.  With all this said, yesterday Grant Gustin (the actor that plays “The Flash” if you didn’t know) tweeted out that the title of the first episode of the next season of “The Flash” will be “Flashpoint”.  So yeah something that was very obvious if you read the comic was proven true.  I’m curious how they’re going to do “Flashpoint” as it seems like almost all the major characters are off limits for TV.

Tomorrow The Minstrel and Pussy Whip discuss the possibility of there being 3 different people who are the villain known as The Mad Jester. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

With this one I thought “what if a superhero team acted like a straight up gang?”.  For good measure I threw in a “Menace II Society” reference. Also in this one I introduce “The Spider” which is my version of “Cobra” from “G.I. Joe” only they’re not really that evil at all.  You’ll be seeing more of these guys over time. The panels of this comic are based on the work of Ramona Fradon.

That’s it for this one. Next time a man called “The Illusionist” is called in to solve a big problem. Check out new Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations this Tuesday-Thursday.  Hope you enjoy and see ya then!
