So if you saw yesterday’s comic you saw the coloring was off with Mr. Stretch’s face. For some reason the colors I used for him get screwed up whenever I use him. It been since I used him so I forgot this. I’ll try to fix this tonight.

Speaking of screwing up, “Supergirl” & “The Flash” were back on this week. With “Supergirl” I now have some sympathy. When the show moved to Vancouver to film it lost several people. That would be “Ally McBeal”, “Lucy Lane”, and “Maxwell Lord”. I’m sure this screwed up whatever plans they had for this season. Still after some okay episodes this show went right back all the worst stuff from this season like:

  • Guardian
  • “Supergirl” being a reporter
  • Lena Luthor

“The Flash” on the other hand, I don’t know to say about it. I’m at a point where I want “Iris” to die already so they can move on. It seems like forever with this “gotta save Iris” thing. Also am I missing something? Why does “Caitlin” having powers make her evil. Like what’s the connection? I was looking forward to “Killer Frost”, but now I starting to be over that too. This show REALLY needs to shake things up. Like yesterday!

I posted the long awaited “The History Of Comics With Q-boy” 65 and not until too late noticed I screwed up. Distraction Lass gets her arm blown off in one panel. A couple panels later though there’s the same arm intact.

Enough with my screw ups. This comic was a weird one wasn’t it? This combination of characters seems to lead me down weird rabbit holes. Trying to psycho analyze someone as thick as Slowku leads to quick frustration. Especially when you’re also working with someone with as many issues as Special-Girl. Then you have Hazard Hands being there to be petty. It’s a nice gumbo of craziness to work with. Tomorrow these guys return to dive deeper down this rabbit hole. They get derailed though…

Wow. Pepsi stepped in it with that commercial, huh? Guess we all learned a couple things here. One, don’t use serious subjects to sell products. Two, which is more important, stay away from Kardashians.

Enough of that, let’s talk some “X-men”. So over the last couple weeks I read “X-men: Prime” and “X-men: Gold” 1… I can’t express how much I want to like “X-men”. “X-men” was one of my favorite things ever for the longest time. Now it’s hard even read ABOUT what’s going on in “X-men” nontheless the actual comics.

So “X-men: Prime” is an entire comic about making “Kitty Pryde” the leader and moving the school to central park. Do they fight anyone or do anything exciting? Nah. Setting up those two things is pretty much it. Alright, starting out rough already.

“X-men: Gold” 1 is… Ya know what I can’t get past one thing in this. There’s a character named “Prestige”. Now I assumed this was a new character. No. This is “Rachael Summers”.

There’s a dumb explanation why she shouldn’t go by “Phoenix” or “Marvel Girl”, but “Prestige”?! Why not go by “Rachel Summers” then? Also her costume is terrible. Other than that it was… Meh! Not great, not terrible.

Tomorrow, Special-Girl and Hazard Hands return. They talk with The Minstrel and Slowku about… Well it somehow becomes about asexual reproduction. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

So you might be wondering what Special-Girl is freaking out about. This stuff about the a multi-verse the died got referred to before. This was way back in “Criminal And Crimfighter Conversations” 36. You can check that out here http://bit.ly/ccconver36 .

To re-explain I’ll paraphase what I wrote then. “This one has some references to “Crisis Of Infinite Earth””. This was “the big event of DC Comics that ended its multi-verse”. The main thing is in “Crisis” “The Flash” and “Supergirl” die in it. Also the “DC” heroes don’t remember “Crisis” happening. In my version, my verions of them (Quickie and Special-Girl) remember it happening. They are the only once who do though.

This panel mimics the cover to “Green Lantern” 75 by artist Gil Kane. You can check it out here http://bit.ly/gl75cover . “Green Lantern” 75 is significant because it is the last issue before the title started a classic run. The title was then written by Dennis O’Neil with art by Neal Adams.

“Green Arrow” was also added to the book as co-star. According to “Wikipedia” this is also seen as part of the end of the Silver Age of Comics.

February 1 is hourly comic day which is described by KnowYourMeme.com as “an annual event that takes place on February 1st where participants draw one short comic for every hour that they (are) awake”.  This is my bastardized attempt at it.

If you’ve been paying attention to the last few posts I’ve mentioned launching a new comic “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” and this looked like the perfect opportunity to do so.  To be clear all these comics were made in advance unlike the brave souls who are actually making comics every hour they are awake.

The attempt here is that a comic will be posted every hour today from 12AM to 12PM.  How well will this work out? Who knows? But hey the train wreck might be fun to watch too.

If you’re new or not paying much attention a little over a month ago to celebrate doing 100 of these comics I did 4 of them where a bunch of the characters had a huge rap battle/cypher (which you can check out here https://goo.gl/qQkUQ3 ) and this comic is referring to that.

My friend Chris started watching all the “DCComics” “CW” shows and of the characters in all these shows he hates “Jimmy Olsen” from “Supergirl”.  He has some real problem with “Jimmy” liking “Supergirl” while he was with “Lucy Lane”.  It’s truely bizzare. This made me think about the show and I’m starting to wonder is there much more to the show than Melissa Benoist being really likeable. The villains kinda suck. Wynn sucks (seriously this guy is dead weight. Get rid of him).

Then again “Martian Manhunter” and “Alex” are pretty good. and “Mon-El” seems interesting so far. I also like that in this world is just known and accepted that there are aliens. So maybe there is more to it.

I’ll admit it… I didn’t get “bye Felicia” for way too long. It seemed like overnight people started saying that, and I was lost.

I gotta say one of the most fun things about doing these comics is making my version of “Supergirl” a junkie that fights with the equivalents of “Buffy” and “Jubilee”.  Juxtaposing the sweet adorable character from the “Supergirl” show with this just amuses me to no end.
