Hope everyone had a good Christmas day! This is the first page of this year’s holiday special. I’ll talk more about it, and give an introduction of this comic’s special guest Zee Bee AKA @thegoofyartist (her name on Twitter and Instagram) later. Special thanks to her for letting me use her as a character in this nutty little adventure.

Slowku, Mr. Mystic, & Luscious Trapp On Slowku’s Job & Life
In “Dragonball” “Goku’s” wife “Chi Chi” can best be described as a nag. She nags “Goku” about stuff, cooks, and is obsessed with “Gohan’s” education. Then after “Goku” dies during the “Cell Saga” (and again I say I think he died on purpose to get away from his family) she seems so broken from loneliness that she doesn’t really care about her other son “Goten’s” education at all.
(Slight spoiler alert) I’m not caught up on “Dragonball Super” but I believe “Chi Chi” and “Goten” get killed (this also probably gets undone through time travel as “Future Trunks” is involved). Before this “Chi Chi” forces “Goku” to farm turnips for money. Then unless the fan translation is way off “Goku” comes into TONS of money and “Chi Chi” somehow spends all of it (they do get a nicer house though). There’s also a famous technically non-cannon filler episode of “Dragonball Z” where “Chi Chi” forces “Goku” (and “Piccolo” who is living with them while training “Gohan” because he eats there even though it’s clearly established his people only drink water) to get a driver’s license.

Slowku, Physician Omnipotent, Luscious Trapp, & Mr. Mystic On “The Cycle” (Censored)
I’m going to predict the future. I have no special powers or incite but I’ll predict it anyways. In 2 years during the mid-term election Democrats will win back either the Senate or the House. Then in 4 years in the presidential election the Democratic candidate won’t be the “right” candidate (they’ll do something wrong like help to create the internet, or windsurf) and Trump will be re-elected. Then in 6 years during the next mid-term election the Democrats will lose whatever they gained in last mid-term election. Then in 8 years Democrats will have the “right” candidate and they will be elected President. This President will have to fix all the stuff Trump did before making any progress. Then the cycle will begin again.
How can the cycle be broken? Democrats have to vote like they did for Obama every single time. Including mid-term elections which might be even more important. Otherwise it’s gonna be 8 years of Trump, and if you’ve been following the news its clear he has no idea what he’s doing.
Oh right this is a comic. Physician Omnipotent is my “Dr. Manhattan” character. This whole thing is kind of a play on how with their “Rebirth” event “DC Comics” basically tried to blame their bad decisions in the “New 52” on “Dr. Manhattan” or “Watchmen” for “making comics dark”.

Fair warning, if you have no interest in or don’t like rap you’re not like this week. Just check back in next week and more than likely we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled programing of thinly veiled allusions to whatever “Marvel” or “DC” is doing (no promises though).

The Minstrel, Q-boy, & Slowku On Slowku Avoiding Popularity
In most American comics if a superhero saves a city they become so famous they have to have a secret identity so everyone they love isn’t targeted by villains (of course their identity is always found out and all their loved ones are targeted anyways).
“Goku” saved the world if not the universe quite a few times and only a handful of people know who he is or what he did. Pretty much every time something happens or the situation makes it so people can’t see him do it.
It would be interesting to see a “what if” where people knew “Goku” saved the world. I’d imagine he’d be very uncomfortable. I’ve gotten into this before but “Goku” spends A LOT of time alone or with few people. His house is basically a shack in the woods. Also any perks of fame would be lost on “Goku”. The guy basically wears one outfit, and seems pretty happy to eat whatever he can hunt and kill. Some of these things change a bit in “Dragonball Super” but that’s clearly “Chi Chi’s” doing not his. In real life “Goku” has a holiday and is the one of the most famous heroes in all entertainment across the globe and he’d probably hate that…

Don’t really have anything to say about this comic so I’m going to go off topic and talk about the animated movie “Batman: The Killing Joke”. I finally got around to watching this and wow does “Batgirl” get done dirty. So if you don’t know the in the comic this movie is based on “The Joker” shoots and permanently paralyzes “Batgirl” (until the “New 52”) as part of his plot to drive “Commisioner Gordon” insane like himself. It’s a great comic but kinda problematic because “Batgirl” is basically just used at a plot device and there some real dark stuff suggested that happens to her as well.
It seem likes the movie tries to make this better (and to fill up time since the comic isn’t enough material for a whole movie) by adding a “Batgirl” adventure to the beginning. This makes things a lot worse. First of all it just doesn’t fit with the rest of the movie. It’s very badly done and it’s jarring when the story just switches. Also the story doesn’t make “Batgirl” look very good. It makes her seem pretty amatuerish and “Batman” REALLY talk down to her. Then she kinda throws a tantrum and tries to fight him… Then she gets all hot and bothered and bangs “Batman”. I knew going in that this happens and it’s so much worse than I thought. It’s really gross.
The part that just adapts “The Killing Joke” is pretty good, but again wow was the “Batgirl” stuff unnecessary. They should have really made it clearly two separate stories. One about “Batgirl’s” last mission before she retires (where she’s competent and doesn’t bang “Batman”) and then “The Killing Joke” story. That’s just my 2 cents though. What are yours?

Special-Man, Q-boy, & Slowku On Slowku Cracking Up (Censored)
Family is a weird thing with “Goku”. The only family he every really has as a kid is “Grandpa Gohan” (who he unknowingly kills when he turns into a giant ape during a full moon). The only blood relative he ever encounters kidnaps his son and “Goku” has to help “Piccolo” kill him. His race the “Saiyans” seem to have no concept of family. Children seem to be bred (strangely enough like how “Krytonians” are in “Man Of Steel”) and then they are sent to wipe out all life on planets as infants.
You can make a big stretch and say his teacher’s over time are like father figures, but they aren’t really. Pretty sad when the closest thing you have to a Dad is a perverted old hermit who lives alone on a tiny island.
Or the cat guy who lives alone on a top of a giant tower. Or the guy who lives even higher in the sky on a lookout above Earth. Or the guy who lives alone on a tiny planet in the afterlife. See the pattern… Isolation. “Goku” lives a pretty isolated life with extended periods where he is completely alone.
I’ve mentioned before how “Goku” takes pretty much any opportunity to abandon his family, and how messed up it was putting the pressure to beat “Cell” on “Gohan”, but he makes up for it by sacrificing himself right? Well here’s the thing… “Goku” could have easily escaped. “Goku” teleports “Cell” to “King Kai’s” planet and has over 30 seconds to teleport back to Earth (I believe this time was shortened in “Dragonball Z Kai” though). That may not sould like a lot of time. But in that time he talks to “King Kai” and just stands there for kind of a while. Check it out in this clip…
