The History Of Comics With Q-boy #62

Notoriously Getting Rich Or Die Trying To Get 8 Miles Outta Q-boy Comics (Censored)

qbs62c

As indicated by the title this one is inspired by the rap movies “Notorious”, “Get Rich Or Die Trying”, “8 Mile”, and “Straight Outta Compton”. Let’s take a look at the panel…

  • Panel 1 is based on the cover to “All Eyez On Me” by 2pac (which if you don’t know you’re either pretty young or VERY different from me) that you can check out here https://qr.net/vGTat5 . Bobby Cakes face specifically is based on this drawing by Robert Crumb https://goo.gl/XX2Ntr
  • Panel 2 is based on the cover to “The Source” magazine from May of 1995 which you can check out here https://goo.gl/LGCyI5
  • The last 2 panels are based on screenshots from “Straight Outta Compton” including the last screenshot from this collection https://goo.gl/MGWE8D & the 2nd to last screenshot from this collection https://goo.gl/Lpqt0W

Next time will at least be the start of one of Q-boy’s greatest adventures as we begin to close out The Silver Age of comics. Check out new “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” Tuesday-Thursday. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #103 Nodachi, J-Pop, & Mental Assassin On The Asian Girl Cypher (Censored)

Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #103

Nodachi, J-Pop, & Mental Assassin On The Asian Girl Cypher (Censored)

ccc-103-nodachij-popandmentalassassinc

Not as much stuff cut from this comic due to space as in the last one.  Mostly the girls talking before they start rhyming. The main part cut was that Nodachi’s part originally started with “Folks go Nodachi you so cocky/ Mad cuz’ my IG ya beau on seeing my photos fondly/ Maybe I should stop…”. The J-Pop says “No go on please”.

The line “Nodach go head n’ rock this” is a reference to the line “2pac go head n’ rock this” by Shock G from the song “Same Song” by Digital Underground. This is the first song 2pac appears on.

The “Gambino’s dream” line is referring to Childish Gambino/ Donald Glover who in many songs (especially his earlier ones) talks about being into Asian girls.

That’s it for this week. Next week should start off with “The History Of Comics With Q-boy” (not 100% sure I’ll be done) where we see artist Bobby Cakes fall into a vicious cycle. Then new “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” Tuesday-Thursday. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #102 Succubus, Death Poll & Drizzle On The Exception Cypher (Censored)

Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #102

Succubus, Death Poll & Drizzle On The Exception Cypher (Censored)

ccc-102-succubusdeathpolldrizzle

With this one I actually had to cut out a decent amount so everything would fit. Here’s the stuff that got cut:

  • Originally Succubus and Drizzle give more of an introduction
  • Drizzle started her part say “let me start off with these jealous bitches…”
  • After “til’ that thunder hits you” Death Poll said “ooooh!”. I really wanted this but it took up too much space
  • Succubus started her part with “Or break ya fuckin’ arm for challenging/ Call that shit, “Southern Hospitality”/”
  • Succubus ended her part with “Look this shit can get ugly n’ grizzly, so hon please assist/ Shut the fuck up! I’m country n’ Drizz be-/
  • Then Drizzle had a whole other part where she says “”Lightning in a bottle”, so hood n’ so nuts/ My girl say’s it best-/ Then Succubus says “Look but don’t touch/”

In case you don’t get the “granny’s peach flavor” part it’s referring to “granny’s peach tea” from “Batman V Superman”.  If you didn’t see the movie it’s pee.

Tomorrow Nodachi, J-Pop, & Mental Assassin have an Asian girls cypher. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Drizzle & Ms. Majors On The 100th Conversation Cypher (Censored)

Yep I made my version of “The Hulk” Black.  I revealed his name was Broadrick Benton in a previous comic (Criminal And Crimfighter Conversations #74 specifically).  Anyways, last week was the big 100th comic which featured the 100th Conversation cypher. Alot of characters didn’t get to be part of that so we’ll be continuing with that theme this week.  Tomorrow Succubus, Death Poll, & Drizzle have their own cypher. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #100A-D The 100th Conversation Cyphers (Censored)

Q-girl, Q-boy, & Slowku On The 100th Conversation Cypher (Team Q-four) (Censored)

ccc-100a-qgirlqboyslowkuc

So this 100th comic is in 4 parts. This is the first part. For each of these I’ll explain some references people may not know

“Bangin’ The Wench” = Reference to “Batgirl” having sex with “Batman” in the direct to DVD movie “Batman: The Killing Joke”.

“Baby mama’s a terrorist” = Reference to “Batman” having a child (current “Robin” “Damian Wayne”) with “Talia Al Ghul”

“Ain’t no such thing as half way crooks” = Famous line from “Shook Ones (Part II)” by “Mobb Deep. Also a big part of the “Eminem” movie “8 Mile” when he quotes the line from the song while rhyming to the “Shook One” instrumental in his final battle against “Papa Doc”

John Hein/”Hit em’ with the hein”= Howard Stern show reference. A lot to explain but the short version is describing someone who has low energy

Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #100B

Special-Man, Freedom Female, & The Good Knight On

The 100th Conversation Cypher (Team World Protectors) (Censored)

ccc-77-specialmanfreedomfemalegoodknight

“Blame some blue guy” = Reference to how “DC’s” event “Rebirth” seems to blame the “darkness” of “DC’s” universe on “Dr. Manhattan” from “Watchmen” altering things/

Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #100C

The Innovator, America-Man, & The Smasher The

100th Conversation Cypher (Team Revenge Squad) (Censored)

ccc-100c-theinnovatoramericamansmasherc

“Call me a Nazi” = Reference to all the “HydraCap” nonsense that was going on where in the current “Captain America” comic he was altered to think he’s a “Hydra” agent and people were being total rubes and calling him a Nazi.

“Me n’ Ms. Majors fightin’” = Reference to “Civil War II” where “Iron Man” and “Captain Marvel” are fighting over some “Inhuman” kid that can predict the future and whether to use him or not

“The Smasher was dead” = Reference to “The Hulk” being killed by “Hawkeye” in “Civil War II”

Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #100D

Special-Girl & Muffina Winters On The 100th Conversation Cypher (Censored)

ccc-44.3-muffyandspecialgirltandqgirl

“Papa Doc” = Mentioned  before but he’s the guy Eminem battles at the end of “8 Mile”. The battle begins with a coin toss to see who goes first and he says “let that bitch go first”. Played “Anthony Mackie” aka “The Falcon” in “Marvel movies.

“Lynda Carter” = Played “Wonder Woman” in the 70’s TV Show. Obviously pre-dating “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”.

“Originator of musical episodes” = The “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” episode “One More Time With Feeling” seemed to popularize TV shows doing musical episodes with varying results. “Supergirl” is suppose to have a musical crossover with “The Flash” next season.

“Angel” & “Spike” = “Buffy’s” vampire love interests.  Usually wouldn’t use “real life” names (and in this comic’s context it kinda doesn’t make sense) but I couldn’t resist using this line

It’s been great giving you these first 100 comics. To 100 more and way beyond.  Thanks to everyone who liked, retweeted, commented, shared, and just read these. I appreciate it more than you can know. See ya next Tuesday-Thursday for more “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations”. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!
