Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #100A

Q-girl, Q-boy, & Slowku On The 100th Conversation Cypher (Team Q-four)ccc-100a-qgirlqboyslowku

So this 100th comic is in 4 parts. This is the first part. For each of these I’ll explain some references people may not know

“Bangin’ The Wench” = Reference to “Batgirl” having sex with “Batman” in the direct to DVD movie “Batman: The Killing Joke”.

“Baby mama’s a terrorist” = Reference to “Batman” having a child (current “Robin” “Damian Wayne”) with “Talia Al Ghul”

“Ain’t no such thing as half way crooks” = Famous line from “Shook Ones (Part II)” by “Mobb Deep. Also a big part of the “Eminem” movie “8 Mile” when he quotes the line from the song while rhyming to the “Shook One” instrumental in his final battle against “Papa Doc”

John Hein/”Hit em’ with the hein”= Howard Stern show reference. A lot to explain but the short version is describing someone who has low energy

Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #100B

Special-Man, Freedom Female, & The Good Knight On

The 100th Conversation Cypher (Team World Protectors)

ccc-77-specialmanfreedomfemalegoodknight

“Blame some blue guy” = Reference to how “DC’s” event “Rebirth” seems to blame the “darkness” of “DC’s” universe on “Dr. Manhattan” from “Watchmen” altering things/

Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #100C

The Innovator, America-Man, & The Smasher The

100th Conversation Cypher (Team Revenge Squad)

ccc-100C-theinnovatoramericamansmasher

“Call me a Nazi” = Reference to all the “HydraCap” nonsense that was going on where in the current “Captain America” comic he was altered to think he’s a “Hydra” agent and people were being total rubes and calling him a Nazi.

“Me n’ Ms. Majors fightin'” = Reference to “Civil War II” where “Iron Man” and “Captain Marvel” are fighting over some “Inhuman” kid that can predict the future and whether to use him or not

“The Smasher was dead” = Reference to “The Hulk” being killed by “Hawkeye” in “Civil War II”

Special-Girl & Muffina Winters On The 100th Conversation Cypher

ccc-44.3-muffyandspecialgirltandqgirl

“Papa Doc” = Mentioned  before but he’s the guy Eminem battles at the end of “8 Mile”. The battle begins with a coin toss to see who goes first and he says “let that bitch go first”. Played “Anthony Mackie” aka “The Falcon” in “Marvel movies.

“Lynda Carter” = Played “Wonder Woman” in the 70’s TV Show. Obviously pre-dating “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”.

“Originator of musical episodes” = The “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” episode “One More Time With Feeling” seemed to popularize TV shows doing musical episodes with varying results. “Supergirl” is suppose to have a musical crossover with “The Flash” next season.

“Angel” & “Spike” = “Buffy’s” vampire love interests.  Usually wouldn’t use “real life” names (and in this comic’s context it kinda doesn’t make sense) but I couldn’t resist using this line

It’s been great giving you these first 100 comics. To 100 more and way beyond.  Thanks to everyone who liked, retweeted, commented, shared, and just read these. I appreciate it more than you can know. See ya next Tuesday-Thursday for more “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations”. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Beef really has lead to some great music.  That’s pretty much undeniable. Battling and dissing is just part of rap.  Rap is more like a sport than other forms of music, and sometimes it’s a blood sport. People want to be good singers or great singers, and if someone wants to be the best singer it isn’t by actually proving you’re better by humiliating the competition.  Singers might not like each other and they might go at each other in a VERY subliminal way, but it’s nothing like a rap battle.

But you know what’s weird? John Lennon made a diss track. A guy all about peace and love made diss track, and he goes in on Paul McCartney.

Tomorrow is our 100th Conversation special! I’ll just say it’s going to be crazy and leave it at that… Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Fair warning, if you have no interest in or don’t like rap you’re not like this week.  Just check back in next week and more than likely we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled programing of thinly veiled allusions to  whatever “Marvel” or “DC” is doing (no promises though).

Still here? Cool. Have you ever met someone that you never would think was into rap? It’s always a fun surprise.

Oh and yeah this weeks 100th “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” comic is pretty rap related. Tomorrow The Minstrel, and Q-boy return with Muffina Winters to talk about beef. Hers with Special-Girl specifically. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

The History Of Comics With Q-boy #58 The Painstaking Pursuit To Visit The Virtuoso (Censored)

The History Of Comics With Q-boy #58 The Painstaking Pursuit To Visit The Virtuoso (Censored)

qbs58

I decided to make this comic black and white because it is entirely based on “The Spirit” by Will Eisner which I think usually looks best in black and white. I gotta admit that I may have tried to cram too much into one page. Oh well… So let’s get to the panels…

That it for this one. Next time we run into my other character who we haven’t seen in a bit “The Bastardized Ninja” ( who’s adventures you can check out here http://qr.net/bUZ8a . Check out new “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” on Tuesday-Thursday. Hope you enjoy and see ya next time!

Special-Man, Q-boy, & Slowku On Kanye West’s “Famous” Video Again (Censored)

ccc-65-specialmanqboyslowkuc

One thing I just didn’t have space to fit into this comic was the Slowku saying his motto was “eat, train, sleep, repeat”.  If anything describes “Goku” that would be it.  What he certainly wouldn’t be is someone who kept current with pop culture.  It was fun to play with that in these comics.  It would be like getting an Amish person’s reaction to the “Famous” video.  The questions would probably be less about the video and more about the people.  “Who is this person, and why are they famous”?

Tomorrow Special-Man, Q-boy, and Slowku actually do move on to talking about something else.  They address a debate that has gone has gone on for years. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Ah “Famous” the song from Kanye’s last album with the best beat that like many Kanye songs gets interrupted with annoying stuff when you just wanna hear the beat.  It’s also the song with the infamous “sex with Taylor Swift” line that she either did or didn’t approve of before it was released.  I wish I could visit the reality where he gave the beat to someone like Rakim and he just tore it shreds and that was the end of it.

Anyways the video. If you haven’t seen it, it’s Kanye and a bunch of celebrity lookalikes (or ARE they?!) naked in bed.  It artsy or something I guess.

Tomorrow Special-Man, Q-boy, & Slowku return to try and talk about something else… Success is unlikely… Hope you enjoy and see ya then!
