The Minstrel, Special-Man, & The Good Knight On Special-Man & The Good Knight’s Issues

ccc-104-theminstrelspecialmanandthegoodknight

So “DC Comics” has started this “Trinity” comic with “Superman”, “Batman”, and “Wonder Woman” and that inspired this week’s comics that explore the relationships between these 3 characters. The actual comic seems pretty decent from the first issue.  The issue centers around “Lois Lane” (this being the “Lois Lane” from the the “Pre-Flashpoint” “DCU” that is married to “Superman” and has a son with him who all someone got into the “New 52” “DCU”) inviting “Batman” and “Wonder Woman” to dinner.

All that stuff in parentheses is everything wrong with “DC Comics”.

Moving on, for some reason “Wonder Woman” brings a boar… Seems like “Wonder Woman” at this point would have been in “Man’s World” or whatever long enough to know that’s not normal but whatever.

Tomorrow The Minstrel and Special-Man return along with Freedom Female to discuss their relationship. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

So after some delay I finally got this done. So as stated before, this comic like the last one is based on the work of Robert Crumb. Man, the amount of lines and detail Robert Crumb puts into his work is literally insane! Anyways the panels break down as:

  • Panel 1
    • Thought bubble 1&2  are based on panels from “R. Crumb’s Kafka” a comic book biography of writer Franz Kafka which you can check out here http://qr.net/b4uep & here http://qr.net/b4ufD
    • Thought bubble 3 is based on the cover to the documentary “The Confessions Of Robert Crumb” which you can check out here http://qr.net/b4ugN
    • Thought bubble 4 is based on a this drawing of his character “Mr. Natural” which you can check out here http://qr.net/b4ukD
    • Thought bubble 5 is based on the cover of “The Complete Crumb Vol. 13” which you can check out here http://qr.net/b4uma
    • The rest is based on the backcover to “Carload O’ Comics” which you can check out here http://qr.net/b4uqr
  • Panel 2 is based on a drawing of a woman holding kittens from “R. Crumb’s Art & Beauty” which you can check out here http://qr.net/b4usB
  • Panel 3 is based on the cover to “Mr. Natural” which you can check out here (Note: NSFW) http://qr.net/b4utV
  • Panel 4 is based on a drawing of Hugh Hefner and some women on a trip to Africa from “Art & Beauty Magazine” #2 which you can check out here http://qr.net/b4uwy

Next time…. I honestly don’t know, but it will be the beginning of the end of this “Silver Age” chapter of “The History Of Comics With Q-boy”.  Check out new “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations” Tuesday-Thursday. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #100A-D The 100th Conversation Cyphers (Censored)

Q-girl, Q-boy, & Slowku On The 100th Conversation Cypher (Team Q-four) (Censored)

ccc-100a-qgirlqboyslowkuc

So this 100th comic is in 4 parts. This is the first part. For each of these I’ll explain some references people may not know

“Bangin’ The Wench” = Reference to “Batgirl” having sex with “Batman” in the direct to DVD movie “Batman: The Killing Joke”.

“Baby mama’s a terrorist” = Reference to “Batman” having a child (current “Robin” “Damian Wayne”) with “Talia Al Ghul”

“Ain’t no such thing as half way crooks” = Famous line from “Shook Ones (Part II)” by “Mobb Deep. Also a big part of the “Eminem” movie “8 Mile” when he quotes the line from the song while rhyming to the “Shook One” instrumental in his final battle against “Papa Doc”

John Hein/”Hit em’ with the hein”= Howard Stern show reference. A lot to explain but the short version is describing someone who has low energy

Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #100B

Special-Man, Freedom Female, & The Good Knight On

The 100th Conversation Cypher (Team World Protectors) (Censored)

ccc-77-specialmanfreedomfemalegoodknight

“Blame some blue guy” = Reference to how “DC’s” event “Rebirth” seems to blame the “darkness” of “DC’s” universe on “Dr. Manhattan” from “Watchmen” altering things/

Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #100C

The Innovator, America-Man, & The Smasher The

100th Conversation Cypher (Team Revenge Squad) (Censored)

ccc-100c-theinnovatoramericamansmasherc

“Call me a Nazi” = Reference to all the “HydraCap” nonsense that was going on where in the current “Captain America” comic he was altered to think he’s a “Hydra” agent and people were being total rubes and calling him a Nazi.

“Me n’ Ms. Majors fightin’” = Reference to “Civil War II” where “Iron Man” and “Captain Marvel” are fighting over some “Inhuman” kid that can predict the future and whether to use him or not

“The Smasher was dead” = Reference to “The Hulk” being killed by “Hawkeye” in “Civil War II”

Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #100D

Special-Girl & Muffina Winters On The 100th Conversation Cypher (Censored)

ccc-44.3-muffyandspecialgirltandqgirl

“Papa Doc” = Mentioned  before but he’s the guy Eminem battles at the end of “8 Mile”. The battle begins with a coin toss to see who goes first and he says “let that bitch go first”. Played “Anthony Mackie” aka “The Falcon” in “Marvel movies.

“Lynda Carter” = Played “Wonder Woman” in the 70’s TV Show. Obviously pre-dating “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”.

“Originator of musical episodes” = The “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” episode “One More Time With Feeling” seemed to popularize TV shows doing musical episodes with varying results. “Supergirl” is suppose to have a musical crossover with “The Flash” next season.

“Angel” & “Spike” = “Buffy’s” vampire love interests.  Usually wouldn’t use “real life” names (and in this comic’s context it kinda doesn’t make sense) but I couldn’t resist using this line

It’s been great giving you these first 100 comics. To 100 more and way beyond.  Thanks to everyone who liked, retweeted, commented, shared, and just read these. I appreciate it more than you can know. See ya next Tuesday-Thursday for more “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations”. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

I was 6 of these comics ahead at one point then I totally changed my mind on what I wanted to do, and blew through that.  Then eventually I got 6 of these comics ahead again, and now… I’m maybe a little over halfway done with the next one.  “Writer Ricky” keeps wanting to put too much material in each comic and “Artist Ricky” has to tell him that means it got to be a double page. “Writer Ricky” says “so be it”, and that’s how I got where I am now.

All that aside, “The Bastardized Ninja” is actually the title character of my other comic (which is currently on hiatus but will return at some point). You can check out those comics here http://qr.net/bWPD8

Anyways like last time this comic is based on the work of Will Eisner.  Let’s get to the panels:

Next time a man known as “The Outlaw” tell his story of how got involved with Q-boy Comics. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations #77

Special-Man, Freedom Female, & The Good Knight On Special-Man’s Treatment In Movies

ccc-63-specialmanfreedomfemalegoodknight

So last week was “San Diego Comic-Con” where every comic book related (and a lot of stuff that isn’t) thing showed off teasers, trailers, and info of all types.  Arguably the biggest thing was the release of the first trailer for “Justice League”.  Gotta say not looking great… The trailer has little action and look colorless like the last few “DC” movies.  Also there’s a scene that’s has been sold SUPER hard as showing how “light” the movie is suppose to be with “Batman” (acting a LOT like “Nick Fury”) recruiting “The Flash” (whose costume looks dumb) and it’s nothing special.

What did look pretty good was the “Wonder Woman” trailer.  There’s actually some decent action and humor and the lasso looks pretty damn cool.

Another thing that happened last week was “Batman V Superman: Ultimate Edition” was released.  I saw it and it is actually better. Only marginally though. It’s less “jumpy” and some things are made clearer.  A lot of those things aren’t important though.

Tomorrow Blind Fury talks about teasers for his show and The Defense Squad among other things. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!

Family is a weird thing with “Goku”. The only family he every really has as a kid is “Grandpa Gohan” (who he unknowingly kills when he turns into a giant ape during a full moon). The only blood relative he ever encounters kidnaps his son and “Goku” has to help “Piccolo” kill him. His race the “Saiyans” seem to have no concept of family. Children seem to be bred (strangely enough like how “Krytonians” are in “Man Of Steel”) and then they are sent to wipe out all life on planets as infants.

You can make a big stretch and say his teacher’s over time are like father figures, but they aren’t really. Pretty sad when the closest thing you have to a Dad is a perverted old hermit who lives alone on a tiny island.

Or the cat guy who lives alone on a top of a giant tower. Or the guy who lives even higher in the sky on a lookout above Earth. Or the guy who lives alone on a tiny planet in the afterlife. See the pattern… Isolation. “Goku” lives a pretty isolated life with extended periods where he is completely alone.

I’ve mentioned before how “Goku” takes pretty much any opportunity to abandon his family, and how messed up it was putting the pressure to beat “Cell” on “Gohan”, but he makes up for it by sacrificing himself right? Well here’s the thing… “Goku” could have easily escaped. “Goku” teleports “Cell” to “King Kai’s” planet and has over 30 seconds to teleport back to Earth (I believe this time was shortened in “Dragonball Z Kai” though). That may not sould like a lot of time. But in that time he talks to “King Kai” and just stands there for kind of a while. Check it out in this clip…

That’s it for this week. See ya next Tuesday-Thursday for more “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations”. Hope you enjoy and see ya then!
