I don’t get all the hate for “Arrow”.  I’m not trying to argue with anyone about it, but I don’t get it. On the other hand, “The Flash” gets way too big a pass for doing the same things over and over again, and having ridiculous nonsense science all the time. All the “DCComics” “CW” shows are good, but have flaws. The trailer for the next season of “Arrow” looked pretty cool with him training a bunch of new guys.

With all that’s been shown of “Suicide Squad” I’m still not sure about it. My bet is the movie is going to be “okay” to “good”, but not “great”.

ccc-27-blindfuryMan that “Defenders” show is going to be nuts!  So far “Marvel’s” got 2 A+ shows on “Netflix” with “Daredevil” and “Jessica Jones”, and “Luke Cage” is looking pretty sweet from the teaser released at “SanDiego Comic-Con”.  The “Iron Fist” teaser doesn’t really show enough to form much of an opinion about it though. If only we got a “Netflix” “Ghost Rider” show instead of him being on “Agents Of Shield” next season and being completely ruined.

Then there’s that new “Dr. Strange” trailer. Honestly it’s a toss up between that and the “Wonder Woman” trailer as to which is better, but the joke at the of the “Dr. Strange” trailer is the best.

So last week was “San Diego Comic-Con” where every comic book related (and a lot of stuff that isn’t) thing showed off teasers, trailers, and info of all types.  Arguably the biggest thing was the release of the first trailer for “Justice League”.  Gotta say not looking great… The trailer has little action and look colorless like the last few “DC” movies.  Also there’s a scene that’s has been sold SUPER hard as showing how “light” the movie is suppose to be with “Batman” (acting a LOT like “Nick Fury”) recruiting “The Flash” (whose costume looks dumb) and it’s nothing special.

What did look pretty good was the “Wonder Woman” trailer.  There’s actually some decent action and humor and the lasso looks pretty damn cool.

Another thing that happened last week was “Batman V Superman: Ultimate Edition” was released.  I saw it and it is actually better. Only marginally though. It’s less “jumpy” and some things are made clearer.  A lot of those things aren’t important though.

I like “Batman”. It’s basically impossible not to like “Batman”. It’s annoying when people make him better and smarter than everyone else though.  The worst is when people make “Superman” dumb to make “Batman” smart.

So with this “Justice League” movie everybody is saying it’s “lighter” than “Batman V Superman”.  This is a bad sign.  When something is “pushed” like this it usually means something bad.  Also the in the description for “Justice League” it basically says “Batman” regains his faith in humanity after seeing “Superman” sacrifice himself”. Why would seeing an alien that you were trying to kill 5 minutes ago sacrifice himself (and its questionable if he really had to seeing as “Wonder Woman” could have done what he did without dying) make you regain your faith in regular human people?

Wow hard to believe I already posted 50 of these!  The first part of this comic is about the idea dropped in “Rebirth” that the “Joker” is actually 3 people.  I actually read “Rebirth #1” and it was kinda unclear as Batman said something about “he doesn’t know what that means”.  Nice backdoor way to cop out.  Good thing it’s there because its REALLY bad idea!  Like “revealing “Wolverine’s” origin” bad!  The “Joker’s” identity should always remain a mystery because anything you come up with is going to be disappointing.

Let’s talk about “Rebirth#1” for a sec.  (Spoilers)

Here’s the thing, the comic actually tries and it at least seems to be coming at things from the right place, but kinda like with “The Flash” finale I talked about yesterday it tries to “have it’s cake and eat it too”. So Wally West is back, but they want to keep the black Wally West they made up too.  I get that they don’t want to piss anyone off, but now they’re saying this one family has 2 guys named Wally West in it that are BOTH speedsters!  Get the hell outta here! Honestly what DC really should do is just admit that the new 52 was a mistake and take everything back to what it was before.  Instead this comic tries to pass the buck on “Watchmen”.  Yes “Watchmen” took away the “hope” and “legacy” and “love” and “sunshine” and “rainbows” and whatever else is good in the DC Universe.  This is total BS.  And as I said before the “Watchmen” characters should never be used.  (end spoilers)

The second part is about this female-led movie that “Harley Quinn” is suppose to be in after “Suicide Squad”.  Seems WAY too early to be jumping up and down about it, but okay…  That’s it for this week.  See ya next Tuesday-Thursday for more “Criminal And Crimefighter Conversations”! Did ya’ll see the finale to “The Flash” last night?  It was…. I dunno… Most of this season there was something about the show I couldn’t put my finger on that just wasn’t right.  In fact its several things.  First is the non-sense science. Of course there’s going to be some in a show like this but I think it’s gone off the rails.  The past remnants or whatever (and being able to kill them) being one of the biggest ones.  Then there just this sense that the same things are happening over and over again.  “Zoom” just isn’t different enough from “Reverse Flash”.  The whole he’s a father like mentor who turns on him and is actually his enemy.  This person kills one of his parents in the house he grew up in , etc.

Then there’s the finale itself (spoilers ahead so you may wanna skip this paragraph if you haven’t watch “The Flash” yet).

The episode tried to “have it’s cake and eat it too” a few times.  They try to to make a big deal out of the fact that a past remnant of “The Flash” sacrifices himself (with a nice nod to “Crisis” though), but it just doesn’t work.  Barry’s fine, he standing right there.  Then maybe I missed something but why did “Zoom” want to destroy the multi-verse? Last time I checked he wanted to rule other Earths. Then last episode Zoom killed Barry’s dad, but wait the man in the mask his dopplegagger AND the real Jay Garrick.  Really?!  Then there’s Iris.  So after all this Barry’s like “we can’t date cuz’ I need to find myself” or something.  Look I can buy the Speed Force, time travel, and multiple universes, but saying you’re not gonna be with a chick THIS hot that you’ve been pining after pretty much your whole life cuz’ “you need to find yourself” I can’t.  Way beyond suspension of disbelief.  Oh and we end with Flash going back in time to the day his mom died (again!) and this time saving her. Which will almost certainly create a “Flashpoint”-like dystopian world so he’ll have to go back (AGAIN!) and reverse it. Maybe he’ll change things so “Supergirl” is in the “Arrow-verse” though which would be cool at least.

So back to DC’s “Rebirth” event one of the main things happening in it is the return of Wally West.  Gotta say Wally West in my Flash.  Oh yeah and the kid who plays him on the show really sucks.  I forgot to mention that. Anyways Wally is back, but it looks like he’s gonna be “Kid Flash” or some other not-quite-The-Flash.  That kinda sucks.  Enough of this, tomorrow “The Minstrel” discusses some rumors about “The Mad Jester” and some female-led movie her character is suppose to star in. Did ya’ll see the finale to “The Flash” last night?  It was…. If you’re asking what “Pepe the frog” and “frog on a unicycle” are… I honestly don’t really know. In fact I didn’t know the “crying frog” was named Pepe for some reason for the longest time. Where did they come from? What do they really mean? No clue… But they are memes I see (especially on Instagram) and some of them are pretty funny. Also I don’t know who “Young Metro” is or about his trust issues. I wonder if this is what people who don’t comics feel when watching comic book movies.  Enjoying it but feeling like you’re missing something. Gee hope that isn’t how it feels to read these comics… Moving on…

So the big “Agents Of Shield” finale was last night. It sucked like almost every episode does.  A different person died than I thought but that person barely counts.
